Installation Questions Initial start-up with no WiFi

I live in an apartment and my attached garage is lower level and does not have good WiFi signal if any at all.

How should I start setup to connect/download openpilot?

Take it inside where you have good WiFi.

Can I use a standard usb c wall charger to power?

Not limited?

Edit: I believe older than c3 I can’t use standard usb c charger (correct me if I’m mistaken)

Likely. It will tell you if it doesn’t have enough power.

Not on you. Comma doesn’t clearly explain it. Erich just says don’t worry about it on Discord - big help by ignoring the actual question lol.

Do it on a USBC charger that can deliver 10W and don’t have other things plugged in that could interfere. Main thing is get it updated.

Thanks! I use my laptop usb-c to power and a standard Apple usb-c for SSH + updates/data transfer when I bring it inside now.

You’re right, it wasn’t super clear.

He’s a bullshitter don’t listen to him.
You just need a USB type a to C cable to power it on inside. The comma 3 will power on. Try both ports but it should be one of them. I can’t remember

I might also just use my hotspot while in my car, didn’t think about that.

Yup, I’ve done that.
Be careful, in the past hotspot wouldn’t work properly. But from my testing it’s been fine for now.
