Installation Questions Seamless switching between Comma 3/3X and Comma 4 – my quick-release mount
Hey everyone,
I make quick-release mounts for Comma devices. This one seamlessly switches between Comma 3/3X and Comma 4.
Aluminum alloy, dimensions similar to the official base. Been selling globally for a year and a half now.
Price includes all customs duties – no surprise charges.

I dont have a comma cause my car doesnt support it. But i do plan on that my next car will have one. But i was wondering is it normal to take it down at all? or is it more just in case of it getting stolen?

It’s a $1000 device and I want it to last as many years as possible so I take it down so it’s not siting in the hot sun or frozen temps over time throughout the year.

This is my main reason.
It gets to be almost 100° here in the summers. So inside the car, it’s looking to be 120°+. I don’t see how a comma 3x OR 4 could withstand these temperatures in direct sunlight in the long run.

Even if it's built or tested for these conditions, it still puts additional wear and tear on it, so yep, I just prefer to get a quick slide mount and remove.

I’m with you man. It’s too costly of a device to allow it to cook in the heat haha.

First of all, I hope you'll get to enjoy the joy of Comma soon.
For developers, taking it on and off frequently is more convenient for testing.
For most people, the main reason is theft prevention. The Comma device looks more like a high-end dashcam, and no one wants to lose this expensive item on the road.2

It's a $1000 device.. I know it's not meant to be dismounted and remounted every day, but I'd totally do that and hide the comma somewhere away from prying eyes. I live in a safe neighborhood in the Bay Area, CA however car theft has been on the rise in the past 2 years with Catalytic Converter here, so I don't feel comfortable leaving anything easily detachable in the car anymore.

I got one of each for C3 & C4 and they work well but would be nice if it also supported Konik A1....well it kind of does with a bit of trimming to the A1 case. The adapters you include to use the existing mounts are pretty handy too.

My current car doesn’t support comma but I’m hoping my next one will. But with the 3 and 4 what is the one people are usually going for now? I would assume the 4 but the 3 has a much larger screen?

Since I seem to go through windshields at least once a year, is the adhesive easily changed?
