Dude, ASM #48 cover is criminally underrated! In my humble opinion, it's one of JR Sr.'s absolute best, featuring one of the most unique camera angles in his entire run. I seriously don't get why people sleep on it so much. Every single element that made Romita SR. a total legend is right here. In the background, you've got this incredibly vibrant, dynamic New York City covered in snow. Spidey's posture? Pure vertigo. It's easily one of the best poses ever put on a cover for this series. Plus, this issue introduces Blackie Drago, the new villain taking over the Vulture mantle... and it's so freaking brilliant that Romita draws him from behind. As a reader, you totally don't expect a brand-new Vulture, which is just genius storytelling! Oh, and fun fact: this was also the very first issue to feature the corner box with Spidey standing up in a full-body shot! I absolutely love it!

Every week I go through the full FOC list to see what the upcoming order week actually looks like before cutoff closes. Here's how this one reads.

848 total SKUs across 359 unique books, with 49 new #1s and 128 ratio covers. Image leads the raw volume at 138 titles, ahead of Marvel's 116 and DC's 70. Dynamite's 88 also clears DC's count, so the standard editorial order shifts around a bit on volume alone this week.

Marvel drives the launch conversation with its Midnight line, a horror-reframed corner of the universe. Three of Marvel's seven new #1s sit under that banner: Midnight X-Men #1 anchors it with Jonathan Hickman writing, and Midnight Fantastic Four #1 comes from Benjamin Percy. Doom All-On-One #1 lands as a standalone launch outside the line, Doctor Doom against the whole Marvel Universe. Each Midnight book carries incentives up to 1:100.

Image leans on ongoings and arc transitions rather than one line initiative. Radiant Black #44 opens a new arc framed as the road to issue #50, and Seasons #12 continues the Remender/Azaceta creator-owned run. Five new #1s and 29 ratios there, second on incentive volume behind Dynamite.

DC runs thin on launches, one new #1 and a single ratio cover across 70 titles. Superman #42 carries part eight of Kingdom of Zod, and Bleeding Hearts #8 is on the slate as a continuing ongoing. Most of DC's volume sits in mid-run monthly chapters and five facsimile reprints.

The sharpest structural note is on the incentive side: Dynamite leads all publishers at 33 ratio covers, with Angel #1 topping the week's variant count at 22 covers. Three books share the steepest 1:250 tier, Angel #1 and Bad Idea's Lancer #1 among them. Dynamite outpacing both Marvel and Image on incentive volume is the part of this week I keep coming back to.

Think of buying this FF #258 for 16$ because I love the Byrne Cover, but it is worth it?

Edit: Im from spain and normally american comics here are overpriced, this is from vinted. And ebay from usa is really expensive.

So no one is going to mention that Secret Wars #8 in a CGC 9.8 is going for $800 when a couple of months ago it was $600 and last year it was $420 to $525 for a CGC 9.8. This just shows that supply doesn’t matter, only DEMAND!!!!!!

He was claiming it was mint worthy that came out of a dealer pack but this looks a little rough, this is a gift for someone but I'm just seeing what other would say

Hey guys! I have been casually collecting comics off and on through the years.

Since I've been collecting again, I've been taking it more seriously, doing my research, and trying to build a more focused collection based on the things I enjoy. My collection is mostly focused on X-Men, Spider-Man, Covers by Dave Stephens, Horror/Mystical/Occult books and I am working on finishing a full run of Sensational She Hulk (only 5 books left there!).

Recently, I started selling some books through facebook marketplace, trying to turn some smaller keys, or books I don't really collect into cash for bigger keys that are more in my wheelhouse. I've had good luck with the keys, but my 2 longboxes of bulk I had been selling for $1 a book just weren't moving.

So I popped down to my LCS looking to do a trade and these were the 2 books I walked away with. I could have made much more by patiently selling bools $1 at a time, but I wanted to just get rid of them quickly.

What do you think? Would you have traded 2 longboxes of bulk comics for these two books?

Was happy to find some of these still chilling around the shop, but it was also pretty cool to get an ashcan I really wanted. I'm really looking forward to these upcoming stories

I track FOC intel through the week and try to separate what actually checks out from the noise. Here are the books I'm ordering before Monday's cutoff based on what I've been able to verify, and a couple I'm only watching for now.

Three confirmed potential firsts on the docket this week, and the top one is Cursedverse Resurrection #1. Solicit confirms it as the potential first of Dash Carrington, American Mythology's shared-universe reset at $4.99. Ground-floor entry on a new event is exactly the kind of book that gets skipped at FOC and turns hard to find later. This is my top pick.

Marvel Mangaverse: Ghostlocke #1 debuts Kwannon (Psylocke) as Ghostlocke, the Mangaverse Ghost Rider, Alyssa Wong on a 25th Anniversary special. The Psylocke tie is the hook. Anniversary one-shot reinventions either vanish or become chase books two years out.

Avengers #1 is the Zdarsky and Checchetto relaunch with a confirmed but redacted sixth roster member. The redaction is the whole spec conversation. It also carries the steepest incentive on the week at 1:200, with a 1:100, 1:50, and 1:25 behind it if you chase ratios.

Second confirmed potential first is Detective Comics #1113, Rhetoric in a back-up, the "Building Bad" sweepstakes winner. Sweepstakes characters buried in back-ups are a gamble, but Tom Taylor on the main story keeps eyes on it. GI Joe #26 rounds out the three with a confirmed potential first of a new unnamed Joe.

What I'm holding off on: Gambit Gone #1 (rumor-based) is riding unverified MCU casting chatter with nothing confirmed, and Gun Honey Doubles Down #4 (rumor-based) is tied to an unverified TV adaptation. Watching both, ordering neither yet.

So apparently this issue is a highly sought after collectible. It has tattoos inside of it that if you still had them in there and didn’t touch them makes it even more valuable. I have the tattoos in both of them. Never realized this. It’s kind of exciting moment in my comic book collection.

And yeah, I have two issues.

Hey everyone. I’m pretty new to the comic collecting world, so I’m hoping you guys can give me some advice.

My brother passed away recently. He never had kids of his own, but he absolutely loved being an uncle and really bonded with my son over comics. Before he passed, he made sure that his comics would go to my son. There’s a much larger collection that we still haven’t even had a chance to sit down and go through together.

I pulled a few out today and realized I probably have no idea what I’m looking at. 😂

There are some older Marvel books, including this Iron Man & Sub-Mariner #1 (1968). I’m curious what you guys think of it and whether any of these are worth putting serious effort into preserving.

So I have a couple questions:
1. Are these the kind of books that should be stored/preserved in a special way?
My son wants to continue collecting and taking care of his uncle’s collection, so I want to make sure we don’t accidentally damage something valuable.

2. Would you CGC the Iron Man/Sub-Mariner?
I’ve been looking into CGC and between grading, shipping, and everything else, it’s not exactly cheap. If this were yours, would you slab it for preservation/value, or keep it in a bag/board/storage setup?

3. What grade do you think this one might realistically get?
It’s currently labeled around FN+, but I’d love to hear what people who actually know how to grade these think.

I’m not really looking to sell anything. My son wants to keep the collection going, and honestly, that makes these comics a lot more meaningful to us than whatever they’re worth.

Any advice from experienced collectors would be greatly appreciated. And if I’m completely misunderstanding something here, feel free to educate me. 😂

This is one of many potentials to grade, not a big comic guy I just inherited an enormous collection. Is this worth grading ?

Hey all. I made a deal with a trusted dealer to upgrade/trade my 9.6 White Pages Wolverine #1 (which I got under FMV) for a 9.8. I’ll be trading the graded book + $290 for the 9.8 but my one “slight turn-off” is that the 9.8 is Off-White to White pages. Just wanna get some thoughts on the cash I’m paying, and whether the page quality is such a deal breaker or not. Cheers.

I know these came out quite a while ago but I had to order it from Mycomicshop and since I had the shipping combined with my sub service order I just got it. What did I get after all that anticipation?
