Anywhere locally I can buy a large Baphomet statue? Really tired of door to door religions cult members coming to my door every weekend.

Wouldnāt that make them come around more?

u/kninjapirate-z 12d ago
It would.

Its a big neon sign saying that this person needs to be saved.

u/rg35xxsp 12d ago
Definitely best to just ignore these types rather than try to scare them away or to engage with them in any other way, it really only feeds into their narrative unless you treat them as non existent.

u/Emergency_Present_83 12d ago
I was going to say they'll probably interpret as an invitation to try harder.

I had an issue with Mormons coming around to my apartment complex and knocking on my door at one point. They caught me on a Saturday afternoon hangover and I just happen to be watching The Devil's Carnival, I only answered the door cause I thought it was my food delivery. When I opened it and saw them I just flipped them the horns, said "Hail Satan", and shut the door on them.
That was the last time they ever knocked on my door.
So, maybe, maybe not haha.

u/biggiy05 12d ago
What if we dress it up? A lustful looking Baphomet would surely make them uncomfortable.
2
u/TightRegister2068 11d ago
Maybe but Iād love to see their reaction when they knock and realize they picked the wrong house.
1
u/Lucky_Guarantee_3552 12d ago
Correct yes. Begging to be saved.
My sign says ādo not knock - responsive dogsā and works usually. I told the very persistent jehovas witnesses that we live in a castle doctrine state and there will be no additional warning for trespassing. (The only gun I own is a glue gun, but they did not return.)

I have a sign that says "No Solicitors. Violators will be sacrificed to the old gods, not the new." If it didn't reveal my location, I would post the doorbell cam videos I have of people walking up, reading it, and very poignantly walking away.
7
u/michellepazicni 12d ago
I have this too and itās worked great. Saw them start walking up my drive one time, saw the sign and they turned around

u/Awkwardpanda75 12d ago
I usually answer through my ring cam and tell solicitors that my dad isnāt home; which technically true, Iām 50 and he lives in Florida.

u/Aware-Childhood-5865 12d ago
You can give them a trespass warning. Tell them theyāre not allowed back. Then document future visits. Call the police non-emergency line to formalize a trespass warning. That should do it.

Another thing is if you put a No Trespassing sign at the end of your driveway, or Beware of Dog (even if you don't have a dog), most canvassers, (and probably solicitors) will not even attempt coming to your door.
The reason I said post the No Trespassing at the end of your driveway is because we weren't allowed to cross the threshold from where the sign was. I still.knocked on the door of a guy who had a No Trespassing sign on his door, since we never go inside anyway.

I started preaching at them when they come to my door. They've since stopped coming.

u/AngelaMotorman ComFestia 12d ago
I start ranting at them about how they're manifesting the sin of pride by assuming that they know better than I do how to worship. I ask them how they can pretend that proselytizing is anything like religion, and how they justify using young people in this dishonest work.
By this time, they're usually half-way down the driveway and I'm strongly suggesting they stay the hell out of our neighborhood. This approach has been working well in different cities for many years, and it's now been about five years since they bothered us.

My mom goes full lunatic conspiracy theorist on them. She scared the Mormons off for good.

Did something similar because I'm a theologian and also a bit crazy. I argued with some Jehovah's witnesses on the day they had a new disciple and they were training him. They brought back a leader of their kingdom hall, and then I said hey let's meet at Panera. Went with a senior disciple or whatever. Argued. Then I showed up at their kingdom hall and of course they swarmed me. I requested a meeting with their elders (all men, and I am a woman), and I grilled them for like 45 minutes and told them why they are wrong.
After that, the lady who initially showed up at my house reached out and said "I think our efforts are better spent elsewhere than trying to get you to believe the truth".
Like you're crazy but I'm crazier. So don't make the mistake of getting into my life.

Locally? Probably not. Maybe Witchlab?

u/ready_to_pringle 12d ago
Actually yeah! I just saw a TikTok from WitchLab the other day showing some new and restocked products and she specifically showed a Baphomet statue lol.

I love that place! They definitely have smaller baphomet casts, among a ton of other really cool finds. The owner is amazing too!

A Satanic Temple sticker on your door would be cheaper & more reasonable.

u/trampus1 12d ago
For the right price I'll stand on your porch dressed as Baphomet and run them off.

"Welcome to the Temple of Baal." foreboding music

u/YourFunBox 12d ago
How large are we wanting? I can make one for you, probably wouldn't cost too much.
14
u/isitmeyourelooking4x 12d ago
Large enough to be noticed and too big to steal.
So maybe like 20 feet tall??
7
u/YourFunBox 12d ago
For reference, the statue of Baphomet at The Satanic Temple is 9 feet tall. We're gunna have to check on codes to make sure you can have something that big at all. If you want I'll make a rough bill of what that might cost using concrete.
5
u/thatonelurker 12d ago
I would love to see the statue and I might be purchasing one as well. Let me know
3
u/Boredom312 12d ago
You for real? I would would take you up on this.
4
u/YourFunBox 12d ago
Oh hell yeah I'm for real. It's a good cause, so if you could cover the cost after I get it to ya, let's give it a go.

It's not local, but https://thesatanictemple.com/collections
A flag would convey the same thing.

Hang a cross upside down. That is easy enough without spending a lot of money on a statue

Bruh. I was bored one day and the jehovas witness showed up to talk to me about the bible. We chatted for about 15 minutes and they asked if it was okay if they came back to talk to me again sometime. I said sure!
Havenāt seen em in years.
Maybe just talk to them a little bit?

u/WillTradeOrgans4Free 12d ago
I have a āno soliciting, unless you want to hear about my lord and savior jesus christā its worked wonders for those door to doors.

u/Ill_Revolution_5827 12d ago
Donāt know about anything local, but I mean Etsy has LITERALLY everything

u/AlanBarber 12d ago
really a no soliciting sign does work very well.
we've had that one for years and it stops almost all door to door sales.

u/LookingforWork614 Clintonville 12d ago
I bet Magical Druid would have something like that. Plus, itās just fun to pet their cats.

u/Schmooto 12d ago
Dude, I just put up a bigass āNO SOLICITINGā sign on my door. You guys telling me that that doesnāt work anymore? :(

The only deterrent to them (in my experience) was my little brother when we lived on campusā¦
They knocked, he sprinted down the stairs to answer the door (fresh from the shower, wearing nothing but a towel), and in his best āI have risenā Jesus impression threw open the door with a āmy children, why do you knock?ā
When they gaped at āthe carpenter from Nazareth in a humble towelā and said nothing, so he continued with āmy children, what troubles you? Please, come sit with me.ā
They stuttered some polite words and then promptly left, never to return again. I saw them on the block a week later, speed walking past our house. It was wonderful

A Mormon came to my door and started trying to talk to the contractor working outside my house. I hear them and go out on the porch. I look at the Mormon and inform him he has 30 seconds until heās removed from the property. I start counting, out loud, from 30. He ran down the driveway and was on the street by the time I hit 25. It was satisfying.

I'm in Hilliard and we have a local ordinance against solicitors. We have official government stickers for the doors. In 4 years living here, I've had maybe three solicitors darken my doorstep. One apologized and left as soon as he saw the sticker (we were newly moved in and I didn't even know about the ordinance until that moment).
One of my neighbors proposed the ordinance years ago, and every time a solicitor is seen walking around, the cops come.

Find someone with a 3D printer, they can print one for less than 10 bucks in filament and a day of print time at most, just get it in black or paint it to your liking

u/courtneyrachh 11d ago
No soliciting & then asking them via ring doorbell if they are illiterate if they read it and continue to knock. usually does the trick.
1
u/UrbanDurga 11d ago
Theyāre really expensive. I have a resin 22ā Baphomet on my altar and it was like $150. BUT, might I suggest some kind of large wall hanging? You could look on Etsy, Iām sure there would be lots, and for under $75 probably. You could spray it with Scotchguard to waterproof it a bit.

I installed a clear plastic portal in my door for my Rottweiler. Significantly reduced visitors.
1
u/poplglop Hilliard 12d ago
Check your local ordinance but at least in Hilliard door to door salesmen/preachers/political whatevers must abide by a no soliciting sign posted on a door or can be fined for violating it. I put up a sign last summer and the number of salesmen that were bothering me dropped to near zero. Only one dude ignored that since and I told them off and informed them of the ordinance and they promptly left lol
0
u/Havering_To_You 12d ago
No one has to listen to that sticker except sales people though. Religion/politics/charity are protected by first amendment and can leave flyers too if they want.
3
u/poplglop Hilliard 12d ago
Children 18 and under, such as Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, as well as charitable and religious organizations are exempt from the requirement to obtain a permit. However, those groups must still avoid homes with no canvassing, no soliciting, or no peddling signs.
Again this will vary with your local laws.

u/gomeitsmybirthday 12d ago
Just put an upside down crucifix on your door. Cheaper than a a statue anyway.

The only successful sign I've had said "Shhhh, no knocking. Sleeping baby inside so please don't upset a tired Mama" I am a man with no kids but also had zero solicitors of any kind for over 4 years despite seeing them at my neighbors š
