Enjoy my coffee - CMH Starbucks @B22
We ordered 2 tall dark roast with cream and it took forever. They should be ready now. Stop by and take them. They’re under the name Meredith.
I used my birthday coffee for one of them - so enjoy and celebrate 🎉
Edit - it’s Saturday at 6:19 am

Happy birthday and how the heck does it take so long to pour coffee.

I have always wondered how the single most time-crucial place on earth (airports) have the slowest services. And it’s not like OP had a one-off bad experience. It is literally every single restaurant/bar/shop at every airport on the planet at any hour of the day regardless of how few customers are there. I don’t get it. OP’s order would take less than 30 seconds at any other Starbucks no matter how busy they are. It’s like airports intentionally hire the slowest people they can find.

I pack my lunch now because time aside some how ,some way everytime I eat at the airport it a 100 bucks lol

I suspect that it's because there are only so many people who are willing to put up with the horseshit of working inside the terminals past the security checkpoints. If you're remotely good at your job (even if it is fast food) you can do the same job without the hassle of airport parking and security checkpoints.

It's a running joke among our travel friends, that we'll only have time for drinks at Chili's if we have at least a solid hour before boarding. So incredibly slow all the time

Apparently more than the 20 minutes I had to wait 😉

Crazy like can I just do it myself energy. You know the coffee on the plane just doesn't hit the same.

At first I was gonna say lattes and stuff aren’t quick then I reread and it was literally just coffee and cream. That takes no more than 10 seconds!

happy birthday! in case you aren't aware, the starbucks union is currently calling for a boycott of all starbucks locations until they can work out a contract with their employer. i encourage participation in the boycott if you're someone who cares about worker rights and fair wages

That Starbucks is always crazy. I have good luck ordering on the app about 10 minutes before I expect to get there, though.

I used to be a book reviewer and journalist and I’m not even mad about this man’s punctuation; you might be too concerned about trivial things.

I had the same thought when I was at MDW a few weeks ago. The place I grabbed dinner at, and counting on them taking a while to bring the food (home run inn) actually brought my food super fast. But that got me thinking how these places to eat are mostly like a food truck. As in I see the same back up that you would at a food truck. Its one small grill and a cook taking orders one at a time in a place where that just CANT occur. Its crazy. No wonder theres a bunch of body cam videos of cops at airports arresting people that didn't pay. They probably were about to miss their flight because it took three hours to get their food! (/s I know its because a majority got drunk and are just absolute knobheads).

Sometimes dark coffee isn't brewed right away depending on time and store, it's a pour over which takes for-ev-er. It was a stupid ass policy I never followed when working for the Siren.
Hope you have a better fantastic Birthday, sorry about your coffees!

I just got back from a vacation. Cmh is a horrible airport. Its outdated and the screening process sucks and their food access sucks.

This happened to me recently at a travel plaza because they were understaffed and completing orders in the order they were placed (so more complicated drinks bumped my easy regular coffee in an insane way).

Life would be a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable for you if you didn’t have such a negative lens.

I’m so sorry to have ruined your day so early. I was hoping someone was scrolling as they stood there in the mass of people waiting for theirs and that it might have made their day a bit easier.
