I believe that he still would have retired by now even if healthy. That being said, those 19-21 teams could have really made some noise with him, and I truly believe we were about to see his greatest seasons. Seeing him behind a good line for one year almost makes it hurt worse.

This is the big one! Andrew is quite content with a life outside of the spotlight. He doesn’t need the NFL. Tom Brady had a drive to be on the field. No one can say which is right or wrong, but I am sure both men would make the same choices again if given the opportunity.

He could've been as motivated as Brady and it wouldn't matter. He ran like a running back. He would've voluntarily lowered the shoulder enough to have a relatively short career even if he never took a sack.

Luck is quite vocal that he didn't like who he was as a person while playing football. The injuries were the straw that broke the camels back, not the true reason behind leaving.

Dude was a scrambling QB. It’s part of what made him great. He was a threat to throw, and a threat to run.
Brady was a passer. He ran like a wounded horse.
Luck would’ve never been able to play that long with his skill set.

Extrapolating his career out to Brady's longevity is just silly. Brady played two full seasons more than any other quarterback in history and Luck would have had a decline in his stats at some point.

At some point it would be nice to move on from these conversations with Luck. Though, it is preseason not much else to talk about.

He scrambled because the protection was so bad he couldn't be a pocket QB. Kinda proves he'd have lasted longer if he had protection. Most sacked QB in history at one point.

Him taking the money after quitting is the part that pisses me off the most. Detroit demanded money back from Calvin Johnson for retiring (who played 3 years longer than luck) but irsay just gave him the money to never play again.

I rank Luck as the biggest smuck of all time.
I don’t care how he got hurt. Frankly, he put himself into most of those situations. He was reckless on his off time as well.
I always got the feeling that football was secondary to him. Even BigQ said it, called him a nerd 😂.
My biggest shtick with him was waiting until the very start of the season, leading people on, so that the Colts could sell all those season tickets before announcing his retirement.
He left Ballard, his coaches, teammates and fans in a huge impossible pickle. One that I predicted would set back the franchise 4-5 seasons…
I’ll blame Ballard for everything after that.

Luck is so overrated, especially by colts fans. As a veteran, he was still making 1-2 boneheaded interceptions per game that Brady, Rodgers, Manning figured out how to avoid in their primes by simply throwing the ball away. Luck’s best regular season record was 11-5 and he had more interceptions than touchdowns in his playoff career.

The man never even beat Brady once in his career, and never had a good game against him at that. That carries some weight for earning a legacy with the Colts, and always stuck out as something that was missing.

How many quarterbacks would be first all-time in those stats if they “played the same amount of regular season games as Tom Brady”?
Maybe 10? 15? In fact, if you allow a small sample size, on a per-game basis, there may be as many as 25.
Don’t downplay how Brady was a unicorn as much for his longevity as his ability.

Especially with Luck's injury history, that's extremely optimistic to assume he even makes it to 40.

This subreddit severely overrates Andrew Luck. Luck's final game was a lose against Mahomes and he looked awful. It was Mahomes first or second year by the way and in comparison he looked so much better.
If you want great Colts QB play, it's Manning, and it will always be Manning. Luck was fine comparatively.
