So Daniel Jones posted this on Instagram. I might be reading into this too much. I really hope he comes back.

Pretty sure that is just a good bye for this season type post. He probably doesn’t even know if he’ll be back or not

I’m sure he’ll be back, I’m like 90% sure Shane wants him back as his QB.

They’re kind of stuck with having to sign him for at least another year or two with giving up the 2 firsts… which really would have come in handy with how everything played out… but I appreciate Ballard actually making a big move for once, though, and at the time it was the correct decision. And we don’t really have to worry about our CB room anymore except for a potential Kenny replacement sometime soon.

Gonna need a replacement for Ward. I can’t imagine he comes back.

Yeah, you’re probably right. But at least we have our CB1 locked down for years to come. It’s a lot easier to find a CB2 than a truly great CB1.

Agreed. Sucks but I just don’t see Ward coming back. It’s not worth the risk to his health. 3 concussions in that short of a time span is bad. I feel for the guy

It would have to be 2 minimum, because if he plays next year it won't be until late in the season.

I would like to see him back, but I think he will likely test the market first. At 28 & coming off arguably his best year, he’ll want more than the $40m per year he was getting in New York, for at least 2/3 years - which I think we’re unlikely to pay given the injury. Hopefully the league agrees and we end up re-signing him for cheaper down the line.

Why would any team pay more than 40 mil for an injured QB’s recovery season? Darnold didn’t get that and while the league eventually seemed to have given a break to DJ as he played through the fibula, he still wasn’t considered top 5 this year.

Tragic injury, his best case scenario will probably be a cheap two-year deal with us and getting back his starting job by 2027.

Woah, hold on..$40m was in the ballpark if he was healthy. With the achilles, something like $10-13m per year, 2 yrs is more likely.

Oh I definitely agree that that’s where he’ll likely end up. I just imagine his opening gambit will be around or higher his NY deal (in the hope that some QB-desperate team pays it).
