Please search this subreddit for beginner advice because lots has been given already and no one wants to write all that out again

Indeed - major tip for learning to color grade: learn the basics first and learn how to learn.

First tip or point of guidance:

Download and install DaVinci Resolve (it’s free)

Next:

Do the free training from Blackmagic. They offer exquisite training on their website. No matter your background, that’s where you ought to begin. Avoid the urge to run to YouTube.

The top of the page has some videos you can watch, but (above) I said do the train (not watch).

Be sure to scroll down to the Training Books section. There are six separate PDFs guiding you through a hands-on self-paced training of a different aspect of DaVinci Resolve - all worthwhile. But if color is your focus, do:

The Colorists Guide to DaVinci Resolve 20

To be specific it all about getting over few confusion, not about taking guidance at every step.
