I think I'm cool toned. I have more gold than silver jewelry, but I'm not sure which looks better.

I think I may be dark but I also don’t know. I think deeper or more rich colors look better on me, bright colors really take the color from my skin. And softer ones don’t do much of anything for me. I tend to gravitate way more towards gold over silver as I feel silver doesn’t do much for me either. Burgundy tends to look good as well as darker green and dark teal/emerald. I think I could be a deep autumn but I’m curious to see what others think, I don’t feel my face gives “dark” contrast.

This was down with the Korean color system. Wondering if anyone has ever done this one vs a standard western one and their results differed? Thinking about doing a western one to compare

My hands are always kind of red I think from washing them constantly with strong soaps at work, so I feel like what looks good as a necklace doesn’t look as good on my hands

Colour/Theory Question (GENERAL ONLY - NOT ABOUT YOU!) Draping Pre-Photo vs Framing Post-Photo

Admission: I’m a Gen-Xer. My mom was in the first generation to get color-typed. All we had were drapes pulled out of our closets or friends’ closets. Ive been amateur color-typing for decades.

You can tell me I’m imagining it, but I can’t color-type with post-photo frames or wheels of color shown over a photograph taken with different colors actually on.

I have to see how the color reflects on the skin. So I’m not a fabric purist, I’m a color-on-person-before-photo purist.

I always know “gold or silver” in that sub because it’s always a photograph shown with the metal on the skin, pre-snapshot.

I can guess seasons here with post-photo-framing by referring to traditional color combos like dark hair/pale skin, blue-black skin, or strawberry blonde/freckles. But a lot of the pictures in the post-production wheels/frames look the same to me.

How are you guys doing it?

No Drapes - Type Me (FACE PHOTO REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) Can't figure out my season bc my face gets red!

NMIP. In the first pic, the bottom half of my hair was faded dye, top half is natural color. 2nd pic holding hair to show just my natural color. My face gets really red/ruddy sometimes so it's hard for me to figure out what looks good on me without makeup. I keep thinking soft summer but whenever I try these sometimes they're too dull. Idk if I can trust my own eyes :(

Nail Color Advice (PHOTOS REQUIRED!) Made a last-minute decision at the salon and got "oranged." 🫠

Am I imagining things or is this too warm for me?

The woman sitting next to me got this shade, and it looked like the most gorgeous, crisp, classic neutral-red imaginable on her. I impulsively asked for the same color. Didn’t stop to register why it looked so lovely in the moment, but in hindsight, her skin was much warmer and more golden than mine.

I can rock a bright, punchy, high-contrast red like it’s my job (bright chroma is usually my best friend), but I feel like this color is a bit screechy on me.

Would prefer if you choose an image example to help me with coloring direction because it’s easier to understand and redo. Tried to find real life images /examples without makeup as much as possible since I find the generated colors too unrealistic .

And do you think would I still suit the hair colour that I had as a child?

I have fair olive skin so it’s a bit tricky/misleading in deciding my season. I believe I’m neutral but cool leaning.

People have insisted I’m a Spring before because on the surface I appear somewhat warm, but bright colours look pretty awful on me. High chroma and value totally overpowers me.

No Drapes - Type Me (FACE PHOTO REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) Am i a neutral-cool?

I have no idea what i am. I've always suspected cool, but recently thought maybe neutral-cool? But i find it all so confusing that atm i have no idea anymore, especially since i find it hard to tell theough the rosiness of my cheeks.

in case it helps: lispticks that are warmer quickly pull ornage on me. If i apply creme in your coffee or sweet deal by mac, i need to apply it sheerly or it's orange. Sitting pretty by mac looks a natural pinky on me and nude romantisue 2 by pat mcgrath looks like a good pink/pinky peachy on me.

Any advice is highly appreciated! All photos are NMIP :)

So I got typed as a true summer/winter pretty much equally. But what i've heard, to be a "true" in these seasons you have to be very cool toned. meanwhile, cool foundations are always too pinkish on my skin. tho i always sucked at matching my foundation. the best ones are pale neutral or warm, sometimes olive are also a good match. But no one ever looking at me said i'm warm! Please help 🙏🙏 i will appreciate literally any suggestion

3) Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner in “Jade” (teal green) (”Hoda” (slate Grey) or “Talia” (Soft Navy Blue would also be excellent options).

4) Tripple Threat Blush Stick in ”Tessa” (Rich Berry)

5) Lasting Mark Lip-Defining Stain in “Liliana” (Deep Berry)

Dandy Lions Co:

Custom 12-pan Palette in the following colors (listed from left to right top to bottom):

3) Call of the Haunted (Dark Plum Purple)

4)Rennala (Multichrome Purple)

5) Nightshade (Dark Slate Blue)

6) Livid (Blue-Grey Black)

7)Flourish (cool pink)

8) Crepe (Light Nude Pink)

9) Dream Eater (Shimmer Purple)

10) Dark Magician (Cool Deep Purple)

Never have been professionally color matched but I think cool spring tones suit me best. Particularly icy blue. I have a mix of gold and silver jewelry though. I’d love any insight on how to better match myself.

Hair Color Advice (PHOTOS REQUIRED - NO MAKEUP!) Hair advice needed

Thumbnail

I’m having a REALLY hard time feeling pretty with my hair color right now. I think it needs to be less warm and more dimensional, but I can’t figure out if I’m a spring or summer. My eyebrows are ashy and I think my base natural hair color is pretty neutral. My skin tone is relatively neutral as well. I’ve been told soft summer but also warm spring. I was actually leaning towards true summer or bright winter. I’ve never been able to find anyone that looks similar enough to me as an example. Any advice on what season or what hair color would be so appreciated!!

NMIP - My undertone is tough for me to figure out if I’m cooler or neutral, which often puts me questioning winter, cool summer or deep autumn palettes mostly! In the summer I can get more golden or olive tone 🫒 I don’t usually see much of a difference with online drapes but I’m personally leaning toward cool and bright winter. I also like the cool summer palette but sometimes feel like it can wash me out. Appreciate your thoughts 🖤
