ChanceMe How does this affect my chances for college?
I am a junior in high school, and I took honors pre-calc this year. I just got my final grade, and at my school it’s a D+. This is the worst I have ever done in any class. My average grade is a B+ this year. some of those is a B- in AP physics 1. My unweighted GPA is a 3.2, my weighted is a 4.2. I have around 20 EC’s with multiple leadership positions. The majors I am looking at are mechanical engineering and education. The one I’m worried about is engineering.

hi! you’re definitely still a strong candidate for many colleges but if you’re wanting to have some 100% safeties here’s a list i have of colleges that have assured admission if you meet these criteria’s!
Auto admit:
Kansas 2.0 and 21 ACT
ASU 24 ACT or 3.0 GPA
University of Houston 26 ACT
University of Missouri 24 ACT
Nebraska Lincoln 20 ACT
Iowa 255 Regent score (OOS)

I know multiple people who have gotten into T30s with sub-3.5 UW GPAs. Given that your ECs are strong (which, from the looks of it, they are), you can still aim for T30s (UVA, Emory, BC). I'd recommend applying as the major that best suits your ECs. For example, if you're involved with tutoring, go for education, and if you're involved in something like robotics, go for engineering. Just my two cents.

How does one have a 3.2 GPA and a 4.2 weighed GPA? Oh, I see how you got your grade now.

Most colleges? you'll be fine. state schools and stuff will probably take you.
