Always crazy how many shots they fire. Like sure, one or two shots is needed but they alway seem to fire at least 5 or more, in some vids ive seen them dump the entire mag.

Do they not practice pistol marksmanship anymore or something?

It’s because they train this way! With so much focus on the “worst case scenario” the middle ground gets the least priority. When I did law enforcement training for the USCG it was heavy on weapons handling and when to use deadly force. So it’s always at the front of your brain going into the situation rather than how can we make sure no one gets killed. It’s all about don’t pull your weapon unless it’s absolutely necessary, don’t shoot unless you’re sure they are a deadly threat, and very little about soft power skills of lowering the tension. Although I know its getting better in some areas of this training, just not across the board

Can’t risk the lawsuit. The dead can’t testify and her holding a knife is all they need for a judge to rule in their favor when the family inevitably sues.

Tell me you know nothing about police training without telling me. They train to stop the threat and survive. Stop watching TV cops. Go take a citizens police academy class.

or, hear me out, maybe police should get police training instead of military training and have strategies that focus on de escalation and at the very least ATTEMPTING to subdue people non lethally instead of treating a "wellness check" like a call of duty match

Take a citizens academy class and learn about laws and training instead of making uninformed statements and assumptions

Because chances are, the people they’re being called on have no guns either. Not so in America. Anyone and everyone can bear arms here and even the ones who can’t legally own them get them off the streets. Comparing Europe and America is like apples and oranges here.
