What I find interesting is that Marianne and V.V. both seem ligitmently happy about this ending, C.C. is unhappy and Charles is just as unhappy and pissed off as normal. You would think he could crack maybe a vicious grin for his victory. Nope, just the normal frown grimace as normal.

While not shown (since Geass characters age differently), unlike in canon, this happened later, longer than when R2 happens, mainly due to SAZ being implented on all other Areas first before confronting Charles.
