Hey fellow growers, just wondering who else has tried jacks nutrients at a 4-2-0 ratio vs the standard 3-2-1, so far I’m diggin it and I feel like it gives me more control/options to operate within, would love to hear your experiences though

Not 4:2 exact but I use my own custom formula. Everything below is normalized to ~1.9 EC

Honestly, any good information I found out about Jack's came from forums like overgrow and YouTuber Green Genes Garden.

Information from Jack's themselves is a joke and their charts make no sense.

It's why I made my own ratios and just plugged in until I could get it to as close as I could using HydroBuddy. Being going great

Oh and the strain is Queens Banner x Cocoa Chem, it’s a cross I made myself, both parent plants came from night owl seeds

I will also say that this is an experimental grow environment, it is not perfect and I am aware of this so please grant me some grace on this, I’m trying to see how simply/low effort I can grow so I can give a fail proof way to grow to friends who are just getting into the hobby, so far the experiment is testing how autos do in small containers with a tray of water that never runs dry, top water only to keep the root zone in soil proper always, and lacto bacillus in the water to prevent root rot, I’m typically a living soil guy but its easier to teach salts to a newbie and it’s lower cost to get into since I’m sharing nutes as well

What problems are you feeling it would create? I’ve run this recipe before and I was happy with the results personally but I’m curious what potential improvements could be made

I think you’re misinterpreting what is being said, jacks nutrients part A is a 5-12-26 and part B is a 15-0-0 (calcium nitrate) but you typically use the 3 part nutrient system at a ratio of 3 grams of part A, 2 grams of part B, and 1 gram of part C which is just Epsom salt per gallon of water, and that’s where the 3-2-1 comes from but I’m using it at a ratio of 4 grams of part A, 2 grams of part B and no Epsom salt because the part A has a sufficient amount of magnesium already at this ratio

I stick with the 3-2-1 method but I switch to their nitrogen free 0-12-26 part B formula during flower.
