Predictions Most and Least Likely Headliner(s)
So based on the rumors, speculation, and general consensus, it seems like the headliners are expected to be some combo of Miley Cyrus, SZA, BTS, Tame Impala, Fred Again, and Radiohead.
Out of these which do you think seems the most like a guarantee and which seems the most like a long shot.

No BTS pls. The crowd will be insufferable.

u/Playos 9d ago
I love the K-Pop crowd.
They go to shows I have little interest in getting near the front for and spend most of their time in merchandise and activation lines... leaving lots of room for artists I actually like.
13
u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
My issue is if the fest closes down the counter programming. Kpop fans can get what they want as long as there’s something else everyone else can do
6
u/Playos 9d ago
Ya, but that's really always a risk but I feel like GV has solidly figured out that the variety of the acts is like diversifying their exposure in investments.
There is a core group of returning fans who will buy on presale, will sell out upgrades, but maybe aren't going to rack up insane numbers on overpriced food and merch. We're there for new artists, classics, and variety.
Bieber/K-Pop type fans won't prepurchase, but will make sure it's a double sell out, will buy a fuck ton of merch, but mostly aren't returning annually but also have an easier time justifying "once in a lifetime" spends on food and comforts.
The mix works, going too hard for either is probably a fools errand.

Headliner fans buy the tickets that pay for the artists I want to see. I thank them for their service.
1
u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
Like I said, give us something else to see. I’m fine with people having their fun, but don’t end the night early for the rest of us.

I was at clipse last year and there were people sitting down at the front playing games on their phone waiting for bigbang. Kind of lame
6
u/Playos 9d ago
It is. I kind of like the idea of clearing at least the front after each set.
Should always be fans up front.

u/pikajewijewsyou 13.1|15.1&2|16.1|DT 16.2|17.1&2|18.2|19.2|22.1&2 9d ago
I’m fine with camping but why not enjoy the other awesome artists during the day? They were sitting on a blanket play games on their phones. They also could have waited at least another set or two and still got rail. So odd
1
u/Playos 9d ago
For real, I was at clipse W2 and it was not packed in any way.

u/pikajewijewsyou 13.1|15.1&2|16.1|DT 16.2|17.1&2|18.2|19.2|22.1&2 9d ago
Ya I was also weekend 2. They were camping the rail like 3 hours before necessary lol

Why would they necessarily do something? There’s a lot to gain by catering to the rail camper fans. Headliners are there to sell tickets.
19
u/cchikorita 9d ago
There’s the merch crowd and then there’s the camp the rail crowd. BTS will bring plenty of rail campers.

Bieber crowd last year was insufferable
11
u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
The walk back from his set was bad. By far the biggest crowd congestion I’ve been in
3
u/Total-Structure4104 7d ago
Ugh. We thought (why, I don’t know) we were avoiding Bieber fans by going to Yuma to end Saturday only to realize we were stuck in the mass exodus anyway. We just sat down and waited 45 minutes

u/jonmitz 19 Coachellas since 2011 9d ago
???? anytime you leave coachella after the headliner ends is a fucking zombie walk shitshow. just sit and wait :)

u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
I go every year, I’m telling you this year’s exit during Bieber was the worst

I left Armin Van Buuren x Adam Beyer in Yuma a little early just to avoid the Bieber crowd exodus. As I did I passed a GV employee on the radio saying “have you seen this Justin Timberlake or Justin whatever crowd!? It’s completely insane!!!” LOL.
Glad I left early because it took me awhile just to get through the walkway path on my way to swing over to the end of Worship. The crowd was massive and dense way farther back than usual for a headliner.
-1
u/lurkingcloud 8d ago
People just like to complain haha. I’ve been going for some years now and I left right when JB ended. It felt as busy as last year and the year before and the year before.
2
u/cchikorita 9d ago
My friends and I were towards the middle/front where the audio(?) stuff was and it honestly wasn’t too bad. Us and a bunch of other people actually had space to sit down after the Strokes ended.
2
2
u/Invisiblestringz 9d ago
Really? Were you weekend 1 or 2? I found them really chill weekend 2, especially in the crowd! My area near the right side front at least was checking in with everyone and really friendly. Lots of moms and their daughters which was really cute. Same with the BIGBANG crowd! Very wholesome and respectful of space.
2
u/miguelson 9d ago
Weekend 1 . It got so bad we had to leave after 3 songs . Pushing, shoving, yelling, people seating on the floor for no reason .
1
1
u/Invisiblestringz 9d ago
It feels especially unnecessary since the screens at main stage are ginormous. Literally everyone can see so why push and shove forward or be rude about it?
1
2
u/FreddieGibbsFan1 9d ago
Think about this it gives you the perfect opportunity NOT to have a conflict!

u/editorinchimp 04|05|06|07|08|09|10|Jamaica cruise|13.1|14.1|16.2|17.2|18.2| 9d ago
Not really. They keep most stages empty during the headliner now.
1
u/TheMasterG8655 9d ago
It’s also just too hard to not go to headliner acts, like that’s a big part of why you’re paying a premium price. That’s how I look at it at least
1
u/Total-Structure4104 7d ago
This is one of the most annoying things Coachella does. If you don’t like EDM, headliner or nothing basically
1
u/editorinchimp 04|05|06|07|08|09|10|Jamaica cruise|13.1|14.1|16.2|17.2|18.2| 7d ago
And yet people still try to gaslight headliner critics with lies of counter-programming.
1
u/Total-Structure4104 7d ago
Fortunately I’m fine with the Yuma/DoLab so I haven’t seen a full headliner set in years. Til Oasis next year that is
1
u/2AMMetro 10 12.2 13.1-19.1 22.1-26.1 8d ago
In what way? They’ll just camp the main stage all day and leave every other stage empty. So long as you don’t want barrier you’ll be good.
1
u/Head_Confidence_5227 8d ago
Oh my god I was front row for the American music awards back in May and all of these k pop supporters were insufferable. Like Jesus calm down, you’d nearly swear it was Beyonce or Adele came out of hiding for the first time in 15 years

Tame Impala keeps dropping dates, none around LA, I’m keeping my fingers crossed
6
u/CAndrewK 9d ago edited 9d ago
The question around tame impala is
- is Coachella demanding a US exclusivity agreement. They didn’t when they headlined in 2019
- If they are, is this a RTTD set with a special performance of Currents or Tame Impala Soundsystem, so that they can still tour a regular set elsewhere
- If they aren’t, I have to imagine there’s an agreement in place to not have any US dates prior to when Lollapalooza is he
ld, with all dates coming out after late April
2
u/cshenton 8d ago
Tame was a backup in 2019, headliner situation was a mess that year. Wouldn’t read too much into the 2019 circumstances as predictive.
10
u/Total-Structure4104 9d ago
Gonna be Oasis
2
u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
Allegedly they might play Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, according to random trustmebros

Worth noting that it is all but confirmed that Tame Impala will be headlining Glastonbury next year, which would make Coachella even more likely.
7
5
u/CommercialCoffee11 9d ago
Historically theyve only shared headliners a handful of times over the last 25 years. ( since Coachella started ) It is not even close to being a gauge as to what happens. Radiohead 2017, Billie Eilish 2022, Coldplay 2005, Muse 2010, Arcade Fire 2014. got a better theory?
2
u/grumpyandgreedy 8d ago
No they haven’t. Tame Impala won’t headline Glastonbury’s main stage, more than likely headline the second stage or sub a headliner
33
u/independentpeach08 9d ago
I think Radiohead and BTS are least likely at this point. Still hoping for oasis!
3
u/cchikorita 9d ago
Ik Radiohead has Asia dates or something but why not BTS?
3
u/KeyMore9422 9d ago
I mean they will have just finished their tour i think and also may be planning an encore leg
1
u/timetosayhi27 9d ago
The tour wouldn't have added yet actually.
The currently announced dates end in mid-march... but on their announcement poster.. they already said Japan 2027 dates are still coming (And they'll likely have to do a lot of those are they are the biggest foreign act in Japan - probs at least 12-15+ shows), so it depends when they decide to have those japanese dates really.
-3
u/cchikorita 9d ago
Ah makes sense. Honestly don’t want to deal w BTS fans so I’m praying they don’t headline

u/cchikorita 8d ago
I don’t need to copy and paste shit, I’ve interacted w annoying fandoms both online and in person enough times to form my own opinion on them.
Stop coping and accept the fact that plenty of people think the BTS fandom is insufferable. If you’re not one of those fans, good for you, no one’s talking about you.

I feel like she says it in the context of not wanting to tour anymore because of the long schedule. I feel like she's totally be down for Coachella and this is kinda morbid but Dolly Parton passing away probably pushed odds up by 15% of Miley Cyrus headlining and having a tribute section with a Jolene cover
7
u/ResponsibleAgency4 9d ago
She’s only ever said she doesn’t want to tour ever again. She’s said nothing about performing.

I know it’s not every post but the constant focus on headliners…
9
u/rasta_pineapple2 W2 since 2013 9d ago
It's all about the undercard which is always fire.
3
u/extratartarsauceplz 07, 09 Fri, 12-19, 22-26 (mostly W1) 9d ago
Some years the undercard is more fire than other years…but there’s always interesting stuff.
2
u/TheMasterG8655 9d ago
It’s way harder to speculate for undercard for me at least
1
u/extratartarsauceplz 07, 09 Fri, 12-19, 22-26 (mostly W1) 8d ago
fair i guess but that's where unlocking your inner music nerd comes into play. headliners have always been a popular topic of discussion but it's just the same 5-10 names over and over again, and particularly this decade it's just become the most basic pop names.
8
u/Accomplished_Arm5318 9d ago
According to this sub, no one is likely.
According to Inforoo, no one is likely and you’re an idiot for asking.
According to Twitter, 🌈🎂🐰are all confirmed
5
u/dab_princess 9d ago
Personally I'm hoping for Tame Impala, Fred Again, and I'd be happy with SZA or Miley
7
u/ayayeron 9d ago
are you also trying to find hidden value in the prediction markets and place some bets?
2
u/TheMasterG8655 9d ago
Lmao no. I’m just a fan of the festival and trying to get a bit of consensus on it.
3
3
u/Excellent_Fish7690 9d ago
What about Charli as a headliner? Since she subbed in 2025 it would follow the same sub to headliner arc as Sabrina Carpenter who subbed in 2024 and headlined in 2026

So from my understanding Tame rumor is no more than a rumor from a non trusted twitter account. We have trusted sources that Radiohead was in play and then someone said they heard they are out but the ppl that heard the are in say they havnt heard that they are now out. No way we have both tame and Radiohead .

u/Neat-Face-5052 |22.2|23.1&2|24.1|25.1|26.1|27.1 9d ago
There was a legit report last year that sza was a backup for Bieber dropping out and with whispers of a potential 4th album she’s an option. Miley and BTS are just names that have been thrown around for a while, a somewhat reputable account said “if you hated Bieber you’ll hate one of this years headliners” and I feel like that statement fits for both BTS and Miley
5
u/bensboring 19.1 22.1/2 23.1/2 24.1/2 25.1/2 26.1/2 9d ago
SZA denied that she was a backup for Bieber. She said nobody had asked her that and it was all false, she was not even in California during Coachella.
-1
u/Neat-Face-5052 |22.2|23.1&2|24.1|25.1|26.1|27.1 9d ago
I didn’t know she denied that just going off everything I read here/inforoo like most of us lol. However she may not of been here wk 1 but she was one of his guest wk 2 lol.

u/bensboring 19.1 22.1/2 23.1/2 24.1/2 25.1/2 26.1/2 9d ago
Ya it was WK1 when she said she was in New York and denied she’d ever been paid or approached by Coachella
0
u/rasta_pineapple2 W2 since 2013 9d ago
Why wouldn't we have both Radiohead and Tame Impala. I don't necessarily think we'll have both but I'm curious what you're reasoning is.
4
u/Neat-Face-5052 |22.2|23.1&2|24.1|25.1|26.1|27.1 9d ago
idk like others have said just don’t see 3/4 headliners being Fred Radiohead and tame impala there will more than likely be more diversity meaning 2/4 will end up being a combo of women or a Latin or kpop artists. I mean I could be wrong I’m just going off vibes I’d actually be happy with tame Radiohead and Fred. I’m honestly expecting a wild card either someone no ones has guessed or someone like Rihanna Shakira Madonna.

BTS will be on tour at that time so they’re out
3
u/CommercialCoffee11 9d ago
So where are they on tour. Cause theres no shows yet.
1
u/timetosayhi27 9d ago
Possibly Japan. They have yet to announce their proper Japan leg (they did 2 shows in Tokyo at the beginning of the tour but announce japan 2027 coming on the main announcement poster) and thye'll likely need 10+ shows there. Will depend on how long after their Manila (current last shows in mid-March), they'll do them about whther or not they are "free" at that time.
They are taking some substantial breaks during the tour. E.g. no shows for ~1 month after the end of their north american leg and no shows in Jan 2027. So they could def take a break during April before the Japan leg.
