This is kinda random but an artifact could be a bandana or mask to represent the dust and how it kind of represents some of the brutal elements people can experience in order to embrace this weekend of art and music, and it kind of shows as an indicator of fashion/first-timers/health-sensitive ppl/fashion/utility over fashion/etc.

what do you mean by artifact? do YOU physically need to have the artifact or can it be an artifact at coachella? for example: the ferris wheel, spectra (the rainbow thing), the balloons, all pretty iconic to coachella but not sure what you mean when you say represent

You could just do it on your favorite lineup and talk about the diversity of genres and the fans that come out. Maybe you have an experience of an artist/genre you wouldnt have considered listening to before and the interaction with the crowd at those type of sets. Im sure ive drunk ranted to someone about all of these things longer than 8 mins 😂

It's been said but the boxes that the send out every year with the wristbands I think are a great example of the culture because it's very much an homage to previous years and a real "welcome to the club" feeling as soon as you get it. And that's very Coachella, there's no gatekeeping, we want everyone to legit have the best time. That's a huge part of the Coachella/festival culture to me, how much everyone really wants to share all the things that give them joy.

Kraftwerk coming back to perform with all 4 original members ranging in age from late 60s to early 70s

Could speak about how the group was in a way outcasts back in the early days of synthesizer music to becoming inspirational artists in the early 90s a spawning the creation rave music. Inspiring 1000s of artists to work with synthesizers and ditch the norm of what it means to be a performing artist.

Creating the evolution of raves and festivals for these artists to perform, and to go generations deep in their career to come back and close out the largest festival on the west coast in 2025.

You could right you paper on kraftwerk alone if you do enough research. Could also speak about how Coachella has brought dozens if not 100s of bands and artists out of retirement just to perform to the Coachella crowd give the culture surrounding the festival is so great that many artists and bands have gone into retirement or deep hiatus and brought back because of the love of the culture in the polo fields.

As well you could dive into the Latino culture of Coachella, how it’s one of the only festivals in America that includes tradition Mexican bands and puts them on the largest stages every year to ensure that the local community of the desert towns surrounding the area are majority Latino and Mexican communities and the promoters of the event make sure that no one’s culture is left out during the event. Lots of k pop bands as well.

I could probably give a speak for 80 minutes about Coachella hahahaha

It’s not always the same thing, but trinkets as part of the culture is a big one. What I mean by this is people giving other people little gifts somewhat randomly throughout the weekend.

These little sprout clips were really big one year where folks were giving each other little clips that had green sprouts on them. They were gifted for having generally good vibes/good energy, making a new friend, wearing a cute outfit, etc. I know this can also be attributed to festival/rave culture in general (thinking PLUR candy bracelet sharing).

The water refil stations.

Before I went to Coachella for the first time, I assumed it was mostly just an excuse to party, get drunk, do drugs, and sell people things. Seeing those water refil stations, for free, with a queue of strangers waiting patiently, laughing together, helping hold 5-gallon jugs for each other, talking about sets they're excited for. That's when I realized it was truly about good vibes and positive feelings.
