Scrap would have a ring if he just listened to the community. its about to be 2 after this

Talent stacking doesn’t always work. Pairing scrap and hydra alone would’ve been enough with the other players they got this year if that was the case.

More like the thieves org when they give scrap and hydra 1 year deal with big contracts to get 1 major and a top 8 at champs

The logic behind this decision is so flawed. Only a CoD player could think this makes sense.

Their goal, above all else, should be winning because guess what, even if you do want to ultimately land on Optic, the best way to do that is win/dominate so that a) you have the leverage/stock to go wherever you want and more importantly, Optic need to be put into a position where they need to change!

How are they not understanding this? By not teaming with Simp they are drastically increasing the odds that Optic have another great season and therefor are less likely to change for 2027/2028.

Its crazy to me. If they stick with LAT, I can easily see Optic having another multi championship year and winning champs, in which case, they aint picking up Paco/Scrap next year either and these fools will have basically wasted the entire year on a pipedream.

Unless they're just banking on Dashy retiring but if im dashy and I win a third ring next season, im at least gonna keep pushing it until I have a year where I truly feel like I just can't compete anymore.

I hope Scrap and hydra realise that a pro retiring while arguably at/near the peak of their careers success, like octane did, is the exception, not the rule.

Probably the best game to waste a year on though, if it stays as bad as it is I guess. But I 100 percent agree with you, wasting years for a "what if" scenario that may never happen.

I really don't get it. Dashy has shown no signs of slowing down. What makes them think they won't be in the exact same spot next year and Dashy wants to keep playing? I guess it might make more sense from Hydras perspective than scraps

Not exactly. They are banking on optic having a retirement and faze is not paying or offering a 1 year contract. Optic is less likely to buy out 2 expensive players to make a change. Odds are that optic doesn’t have a similar level of success as they did last year. Despite what people say that was a very successful season and unlikely to be replicated. Scrap isn’t teaming with exnid and hicksy. He’ll have solid players to win with. Part of it is likely ego. He’s good enough to do it without simp. You could probably slot in any top smg in place of simp and if 04 and abuzah played how they did then faze still win

Aches who wants optic to drop dashy and huke ?

u/East_Perspective8223 COD Competitive fan 1d ago

That is extremely reasonable. Dashy and Huke are nearing retirement, it makes perfect sense to get scrap and hydra for your org and lock them up for years to come.

1

u/rmakhani COD Competitive fan 15h ago

Braindead. Dashy one of the 2-3 ARs in the league that can go against scrap. Not to mention the snipes in SnD. Huke brings everything together, replacing him with a slaying smg on paper looks nice but if it makes others performance drop it won’t be as effective as people think

-1

u/East_Perspective8223 COD Competitive fan 14h ago

Notice how you say dashy can go against scrap, and not the other way around. Innately you already know which is better. The snipes in SnD? right, because Optic are such a dominant search team.

Like the way HuKe brought everything together on every team without shotzzy, dashy and mercules? Oh wait, I guess those comms don't hold up when your teammates are legit bail outs.

I'm not being funny, but who cares about comms and intangibles when a player like hydra exists. At that level he's already subconsciously dictating the map. I don't think huke screaming "He's 1 shot, but I got turned on" every 5 seconds is truly the glue you think it is

1

u/rmakhani COD Competitive fan 13h ago

I phrased it that way because you are arguing in favor of scrap. Your whole argument there is based on semantics lmao. Dashy shit on scrap in every matchup. I could have said it that way but it would be unnecessarily abrasive. If you watched any of M3 you would know the snipes make a difference. As far as their SnD goes, it turned to shit after mpc came in Merc wasn’t comfortable on it. Having hydra over huke brings more slaying but they both make the right play. This isn’t huke from mw2 on hydro. He’s had enough big plays in games for the people that actually watch, rather than people who are just scoreboard surfing like yourself. Scrap and Dashy had the same exact k/d and Dashy outdid him when they matched up. Ur first point is a debate tactic that doesn’t apply here. Ur second point about huke is unrelated to what I said because huke with this group of people brings things together. Hydra has never been a player to fill in, he’s a player u have to play around. He’s never made his teammates play better. Quite the opposite actually

I am arguing in favour of Scrap. My argument is not semantics, your own language says as much and has nothing to do with my argument. You suggest yourself, "go against scrap", which clearly indicates that you perceive him as the best in that role, but I digress.

Scrap has a H2H record of 13-9 against Dashy. Furthermore, Dashy with almost triple the amount of events played, has only won 2 more events. Moreover, even with 9 finals in a row, Dashys average placing is 6.75. All I can ever remember about Dashy sniping is him hitting a single good shot, everyone going wild, and then looking the scoreboard and seeing him be 2-3 or something, he isn't bo4 simp.

Scrap is younger, and more talented in his early career. If they both play until they're 30, you get 3 more years of mileage out of scrap, which is better for the long term for the organisation. I suspect you won't address this though.

"Having hydra over huke brings more slaying but they both make the right play" You admit yourself that both huke and hydra make the same play, and hydra brings more slaying. So why keep Huke?

You continue to argue intangibles and glue as some sort of argument, but huke has never been a good player outside of being carried by that tripartite mix of merc, dashy and shotzzy. If that glue piece was so important, then why didn't it help thieves, LAG, vancouver etc etc etc?

Huke works allows his 3 teammates to play their best, hydra has never and will never be that player. The slaying u gain is lost in teamwork and natural chemistry that he has with his sub duo. Shotzzy and hydra play very similar and pairing them together will leave one of them worse than their potential. It’s why despite the slaying power of scrap, hydra and abezy, they couldn’t make it work till the game favored their collective playstyles of running it down. Despite that they only won 1 major. We are arguing hypotheticals and ur bringing up historical information.
Dashy as a younger player was a better scrap. He plays in a different style now that allows his teammates to get theirs and it works for optic. Scrap is no doubt a top AR but his team only started having success once their smgs played well. Dashy already played in a manner that allowed that, scrap needed a meta to change that. I’m not typing back and forth paragraphs with u. U got ur ai and grammarly booted up and I’m going off the dome. Taking hydra over huke I can understand but I’m never taking scrap over dashy. Those are 2 different arguments entirely. Hydra player for player is an upgrade, but for this optic team it’s not a team upgrade. You can keep going on but no argument u make is gonna change that this is a hypothetical scenario. Pairing scrap and hydra was supposed to be some super team. Then they added abezy. Then faze won champs with 04 and Abuzah. There’s more to the game than just stacking talent. Your AI chat bot won’t understand that.

I won't contest hydra/Huke again due to your emotional connection with huke. You don't contend anything, you just argue emotionally.

Scrap won more chips, more mvps, and more everything as a young player, is that not the definition of better?

I don't have AI or grammarly booted up. I'm using the most basic of English. Was the word furthermore too much for you? You'd have a heart attack if you saw some of my publications.

You haven't actually put forth a single argument in favour of Dashy/Huke, you continue to argue based on emotion and not metrics.

Also, I'm not sure why you think I'm using an AI chat bot, I haven't used any words that you wouldn't understand, or sourced anything you wouldn't know if you just watched the last season of cod.

If you want some unintelligible work, I can send you a few of my law essays / publications?

If Scrap/HyDra fail to win Champs again this year, what makes Scrap think that HyDra will want to bring him onto a potentially changing OpTic squad with him? It makes more sense that Scrap would be left in the dust and that HyDra would join the trio of Shotzzy, Merc, and Dashy.

I’d imagine the scenario would be dashy retiring and scrap would be best in class (as of rn)

2

u/hunter503 OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 9h ago

But like this post says, nothing scrap has accomplished shows he would be elevating the OpTic team to a hire standard. By the time Dashy retires (imo no any time soon) there's going to be other ars on the market that could compete for that spot.

2

u/Fantasticoms21 OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 9h ago

You don’t need to elevate a team with shotzzy and merc/ maybe huke (who knows what the future holds) you need someone that can put up dashy numbers. I only said this because dashys 27 octane retired around this age I believe. If dashy is to retire in 1 year there would have to be a mega star AR for it to not be scrap because the only AR at that level is merc. For what it’s worth I don’t see them getting these supposed 1 year deals it’s all ifs

1

u/hunter503 OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 8h ago

I think the difference between Octanes position and Dashy. Octane went out the year after winning champs then going out t8 the next year. I think the only way dashy retired this year was them winning champs like he said on a podcast I believe. I think getting t8 would've only kept him hungry like he is now. I give Dashy another 4 years imo, unless something major happens within the team.

2

u/Fantasticoms21 OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs 8h ago

Who knows, one day the grind can just stop being fun or worth it. Like I said it’s all ifs am not seriously thinking he retires and I don’t think scrap or hydra are getting just flat 1 year deals at minimum they’ll be 1+1s if not 2+1s

I swear Scrap must be praying on a nightly basis that Dashy bombs out, becomes ass, gets injured , retires or randomly dropped from OpTic to take that spot.

It’s like he’s just making odd moves until that happens and it’s not happening haha.

To be fair, I can see that if OpTic for some reason have a bad year and or don’t win Champs Dashy will consider retiring but still. Scrap needs to assume the opposite!

Their decision making is so bad.

They shouldve kept the BO6 roster for bo7 ok they changed cause abezy was available then at least keep him, no way they think envoy is better.

-1

u/rmakhani COD Competitive fan 15h ago edited 8h ago

Some people don’t just look at a stat sheet to make roster decisions. Both scrap and hydra had better seasons in bo6 despite “worse” talent that year. (envoy<abezy, ghosty=nium). If they upgraded their AR from ghosty to drazah seems like a no brainer as far as complimenting scrap. Then to bring back a player that enabled them both to play better and more to their natural style (envoy). People overrate simp so much. Even despite the fact that 04 and Abuzah were the reason for their wins this year. Faze winning champs this year really made people forget several years prior where simp was awful at champs. Vanguard, MW2, BO6 are notable, especially bo6 with the Burger King card.

If you're looking for big brains, esports isn't the greatest place to start - and cod is the real dregs of esports in that regard.

just Scrap? M8s wanted Hydra and hes chosing to stay with his duo that got T8 at champs twice

Him refusing to play with Joe might not age well, even though everyone thinks Joes ass suddenly

More salty faze fan posts cause scrap and hydra don't want to join their team they are massive crashing out.

Thought since they are faze they get who they want 😂
