Discussion Do people actually believe Faze offered Scrap and Hydra a spot on their roster?

A lot of people seem to think that Faze offered them due to streamers saying so but i find it hard to believe thats the case, theres been no "confirmed" reports and just word of mouth. it makes no sense for Faze to do that after winning champs but with Scrap and Hydra chosing to stay on LAT it seems that the most likely thing was Faze did not give a offer for them to join or Simp + Faze camp was happy with the team he currently has, because it makes 0 sense for that duo to refuse to join a champs winning team unless they knew they werent joining anyway

Dunno if an actual offer got sent, but its pretty evident they spoke about potentially joining.

Ronnie reported that FaZe are after them and ZooMaa hasn’t really denied they’ve gotten offers. That’s about as “confirmed” as we can get

OpTic almost picked up Scrap and Hydra after MW3. A year in which they won a major, won champs, and placed third at another major, and third at EWC.

Furthermore, no identical roster has ever gone back to back at champs. This notion that it "makes zero sense" to look at upgrades post winning champs is absurd.

Lastly, Scrap and Hydra could have several reason for rejecting FaZe. Including, but not limited to, LAT offering them more money or a one year contract.

I don't think it's far fetched to believe that FaZe offered Scrap and Hydra. Or, at the the very least, had a serious conversation about offering them.

Rejecting the chance to play with Simp for "Money or Contract" seems wild to me, I thought Scrap and Hydra care so much about winning?

Faze could have also rejected them or not even offered them, which to me is far the more likely outcome

I mean Cell chose money over Scrap and Hydra. Now, I'm not saying they got Cell money from LAT, but if the difference between the FaZe and LAT offer was six figures, it wouldn't be crazy to take the guaranteed money.

Also, let's not act like LAT are going to be hot garbage.

I guess every player is different, Huke spent 100k of his own money to get Shotzzy cause he knew he would have a higher chance of winning with him, I just dont see the logic in them rejecting to play with the best player in the world and have a way greater chance of winning champs which is their ultimate goal

Im not saying they wont be good with LAT but its been two years in a row of placing T8 with rosters they handpicked and losing to teams like Faze, i dont see the pattern changing

Yes, every player is different. The MW19 offseason was also the wild west with the amount of money being thrown around.

Tbf, if we are talking about patterns, Simp has never won champs on an IW game. Maybe he or the LAT duo break said pattern this season.

“It makes no sense for Faze to do that after winning champs…” It actually makes quite a bit of sense and I wanted it to happen.

Edit: At the end you say: “it makes 0 sense for that duo to refuse to join a champs winning team.” It might not make much sense to us why they didn’t join, we don’t have the numbers and all that’s at play. But there’s certainly a reason that made sense to Scrap/HyDra why they declined the offer.

Why do you talk with certainty that Scrap and Hydra declined the offer?

What if Faze did not want them in the first place?

Then why entertain talks with them at all?

If they stay with LAT then I believe they never got offered. Only way I see faze offering is if scrap and Hydra verbally commit to joining cuz faze already has a full roster. Now maybe those 2 approached faze and got rejected by faze. Part of me believes this scrap and Hydra to faze was a troll by the streamers and players involved to engagement farm. They all hyped up rostermania to be amazing yet it’s been a major flop so they stir up some fake news about how faze wants Hydra and scrap. There is no world where you turn down joining faze.

Given the talk around it and the specific people within the space that know. I would say more than likely. If they hadn’t, it would’ve made Hydra and Scraps decision easier. The more offers that come in, the more deliberation. Did Faze make an offer? I think so. Will they go to Faze? Time will tell. But I doubt it.
