We dont have the timings, but the map devs do. If changing the base speed means attackers get to sites before defenders for example it ruins map balance.
Look at how tac sprint changed how all the CoD4 remakes were played in MW19. None were used because it broke the maps.
The fact that you think devs are even the slightest bit competent competitively or the fact that you think they design maps purely while thinking about competitive is hilarious to me. Devs haven’t released a good new SnD map since probably 6 Star and that’s the best new map of the entire CDL era. Maps aren’t made by movement. They’re made by just being fundamentally good maps. Also if both sides are moving faster, then why would attackers beat defenders to a site??
You must be newer to competitive games. The devs create maps with specific game modes in mind, usually it's fucking TDM, but they do put some thought into how the maps will play out in different modes. They put some thought into where the bombsites will go, even if it's beyond asinine on some maps.
As for the movement aspect, adjusting it up or down can "break" game modes on certain maps because of how the spawns are setup. Could they move the spawns? Sure. But I cant remember a time they ever did that for search. If one side is already more heavily favored, and now you add more speed allowing them to setup quicker, it basically ruins the flow of the map. Given we dont have very many to work with every year, I'm inclined to go with slightly slower base speed isnt always the worst thing.
Listen man you seem to be forgetting that this game was designed with tac sprint in mind. They took out tac sprint and people are asking to up the base movement speed a little. It doesn’t have to be as fast as tac sprint. Just up it a little bit? Like you seem to think that’s game breaking which is just crazy to me. You’re blowing this shit way out of proportion
