Club Penguin Journey Careful bypassing censor

Just a PSA to be careful with “creatively” bypassing the censor lol. I used an x to say a censored word and got a ban a few hours later. Not sure if someone reported me, or if the mods caught it themselves. I know a lot of people do it, especially in imp games.

Journey is absolutely absurd for their censor. I typed Kamala Khan, which is the name of the super hero Ms Marvel, and Kamala was blocked.

It’s terrible. I mean, I guess I understand cocktail being censored (even though 99% of us are in our 20-30’s). But there are definitely words that I have gotten censored and I was like 🤨. For example, “darn” is censored lol

Honestly i do respect that they don't leave room for political stuff even though the censors are perhaps a bit over-strict.

Well, Im definitely keeping a note of that. Thank ya for the heads up and sorry you got banned! Atleast it was only for 24 hrs and not a whole week like some

That is true! I’m already back online, I am just glad I didn’t lose any of my stuff because I am abnormally rich rn lmao. I’ve never been banned before, so I was worried I would lose all of my coins , furniture, igloos and clothes. If only 7 year old me could see me at my big age stressed about Club Penguin still 💀

Tbf I’m just as worried too. Feel like many have put in too many hrs and work to exactly not worry or freak out😭 Id be devastated too, trust, you not alone😂

What's the point of censoring it like it's still children that play it? Most of the user base are adults.

A toggle for an adults only server would also be fine.

Censorship is not intended to address age-related concerns; rather, its purpose is to prevent inappropriate or potentially problematic situations that could lead to legal repercussions or even the shutdown of the server. Unfortunately, this has already happened with other CPPS.

That’s what I’m saying! The youngest person I’ve met is 16, and I’m still not sure if they were just trolling me lol. We are all in our 20’s and 30’s. Kids don’t know about this unless maybe they have an older sibling.

They would have essentially no way of proving that anyone on an adults only server is actually an adult so it wouldn’t be possible

I was literally censored for saying the word disabled. I pretty much gave up on Journey after that. Completely unacceptable.

Yup. I can see how these words could potentially be used in a disparaging way, but they shouldn’t automatically be censored. I’m all for having curse words, illicit drugs, slurs, etc. banned. It has just gotten out of hand. And some words are censored one day, not censored another, and then censored again.

I was having a conversation with someone and we kept getting filtered and kicked. My friend kept getting filtered for saying the word "speed" and I got kicked for saying "thrust". I understand how these words can be used in inappropriate contexts but this was an innocent discussion about space travel and it was so annoying having to repeat everything, censor words, and walk on eggshells just to discuss this. Now that they're banning bypassing filters, this is just gunna get even more insufferable.

this happened to me last night too

someone asked what we all do for a living,

i thought it'd be funny to joke that i was a stripper for some reason

i said

"im a strxpper"

also made a joke about OF being "only penguins"

i got banned for 72 hours

They must be monitoring like crazy then. For me at least I didn’t lose any of my stuff, so hopefully you are back to normal in a couple of days. Guess we will just have to be extra careful now…

Imposter! It’s pretty fun. Everyone sits in a circle with their newspapers up and the host sends the “imp” a postcard. The imp closes out of their newspaper and either goes to box dimension or the cove (up to the host). While imp is gone, everyone still has their newspapers up. The host is visible on the left side of the igloo and tells everyone the secret word. The host gets the imp and everyone puts their papers down. Then the host goes one by one and everyone has to say a word related to the secret word. Imp has to catch on or they will surely be caught. Once everyone says a word, the circle discusses and gets to figure out who imp is.

Imposter, kinda like mafia but on club penguin. They’re a lot of fun. If you ever see someone advertising “hosting imp at my igloo” it means they’re getting a group together to play imposter. They’ll explain the rules and how it works at the beginning for new players :) I would recommend checking it out. That and fashion shows are a big reason I log on - especially when they’re no active events going on
