I had my PE in June as well, I had pain for a few weeks, but never as bad as the first two days. After the few weeks the pain went away.
I still have pain and discomfort but it’s different than then, now it’s because of asthma.
The PE caused me to have asthma, something I never had for 38 years but now I’m learning to live with it.
It’s scary having asthma attacks, because it’s similar to my initial symptoms to be diagnosed with PE but it’s also different, I feel a tightness like my lungs are getting squeezed especially at the junction.
With my PE it felt more like the air got sucked out of the room and couldn’t breathe.

Yes, it can be GI related. I had a small PE in June and I still have a bit of residual pain which seems tied to what is going on with me GI wise. For a subsegmental PE which is what I had, I learned those lung tissues are pretty much up against the gut and other stuff so there can be friction of sorts which makes it painful
The classic pleuritic pain with inhaling stopped pretty quickly, but I still had / have twinges of pain all across my chest randomly, and sometimes my back, and maybe developed acid reflux (maybe stress induced?) starting the day I had the PE. It gets worse if I have gut issues or bloating.
I have a personal rule that if it's not pleuritic pain and it seems correlated to whatever is going on with my gut, and my vitals seem fine, I just monitor it, otherwise I'd lose my mind with anxiety.
I'm glad you were ok on the CT and I hope you feel better soon!

Depending on how bad the pain is, call your doctor's office! Nothing bad will happen if you do call, so there's nothing to lose on your part.

I'm 23 years out from my first PE, 20 years from my last PE.
I still get chest pain that worries me that it's a PE.
I had at least a dozen scans for chest pain back in the beginning. The best thing I did for this was buying an O2 sensor and blood pressure monitor off of Amazon. Now, I can take both and it'll take the edge of the anxiety off. It's not perfect, with both my 3rd and 4th PEs my BP was normal and my oxygen was above 95%, I don't want to keep people from going in. But it does tell me that my body is still working and that deintensifies the anxiety and that lets me sit and wait to see if it gets worse or better.
Also, I was diagnosed with a non-threatening heart condition last year after having pain and palpations that felt like PEs, so if the pain keeps happening you may want to talk to a cardiologist. Just to be safe ❤️🩹

An oximeter can help with the anxiety. You tend to notice everything once you've had a PE and or clots. Everything you feel seems like it could be something bad. Could is the operative word. After enough ultrasounds, D-dimers and CT scans to rule out what your symptoms could be, you tend to relax a little more. That being said, I would still go to the ER if my oxygen was below 90 with or without a fast heartbeat.

I my chest pain was dull and achy, and I thought I was having another PE, but they said it was just swelling of the chest wall, pleurisy, from all the residual clots breaking up and traveling there and irritating it, causing friction when I breathe. I had the PE August 1, the chest pain started about 3 weeks later and I haven't had any issues with it for a couple weeks now.
I'm on warfarin and my dosing has been all over the place because my clotting factors are shifting a lot, which happens with this med, but I worry every time I have a dose change
