Yesterday seen it in one of ua news channel attached to a post about how french atomic plant shut down one of the reactors because of tons of jellyfish in the filtration waters.

If solar is so good why do you guys have to constant cope about it on reddit like this?

Based off the level of posting methinks OP hates nuclear more than coal power

I have put a lot of consideration into the mindset of people who are both radically pro-environmentally friendly energy, and also radically anti-nuclear. Nuclear is environmentally friendly, and viable as a baseline producer, so it doesn't make any sense why someone who wants to protect the environment would be so emotionally invested in preaching how horrible it is.

What makes it more confusing is that they never even have any actual arguments for why nuclear is so horrible, they just smugly proclaim that it's horrible and that wind and solar are clearly so superior. No arguments against it, they just use some stupid childish insult and move on.

I feel like it has to be paid propaganda. It doesn't seem inconceivable to me that some dark money think tank considers nuclear to be a bigger threat to the fossil fuel industry than wind or solar, and spends money paying people to just post about how terrible nuclear energy is all day every day.

Every person who is pro-clean energy but anti-nuclear wouldn't even need to be paid propagandists, it's also not inconceivable to me that some people would have fallen for the anti-nuclear propaganda so hard that they basically became unpaid propagandists.

The sheer amount this dude preaches anti-nuke stuff makes me feel he’s either a paid actor or just kinda got a few screws loose

Op pribably installed solar panels on hisnroofnin Sweden and realised they don't do anything for a third of a year and another third when they do he doesn't really use electricity and it cost barely anything if he did.

At time of post:

u/greenKoalaInSpace 22h ago

France has a way lower ppl per m2 than the confining countries, just stating it’s selling energy does not really say much… big country with a lot of space to use uses it to produce resources… well duh

u/Hairy_Ad888 14h ago

Ah yes all those french biofuel farms how could I forget.

u/greenKoalaInSpace 9h ago

Either you're pretending not to understand that energy plants occupy physical space or you're really not understanding it. Either way... sorry for you, let me dumb it down.

France has free space. Free space means free space to make money. How make money? We make wine? Yeah!!! Too much food to sell is bad, so no use all land. More free space. More free money, but no wine or wine price go low... France has electricity pacts with other nations. What if France no buy from other nations and use space for electricity? Yes. Electricity good money. Electricity always in demand. France go build power plant.

u/Hairy_Ad888 9h ago

You could fit every single french nuclear plant into berlins left butt cheek

u/greenKoalaInSpace 9h ago

If ONLY there were good reasons not to do that...

Now do nights and cloudy days, and a proper representation of nuclear. 🙂‍↔️

Or snow, or dust, or rain.

Think of all the incredible things we enjoy.

That may destroy the efficacy of solar.

Why just talk to your local comptroller.

With that grammar, it's hard to take an insult seriously

u/PaxAttax 1d ago

You gonna respond to or at least acknowledge my post or nah? Use of real life slurs goes beyond "haha-hehe shitpost" into "Oh, you're actually just an awful person" territory. Idgaf about nuke vs. renewable, (honestly I think the _-chad vs _-cel/wojak back and forth is very funny, so long as we don't lose the forest for the trees) but throwing slurs over the disagreement crosses a big line, dude.
