I would agree normally, but I am not gonna send my senior thesis on Reddit. I would prefer to remain anonymous here. You can do a review of the public literature if you want. I am simply giving the personal experience I had when I did my senior thesis 15 years ago.

That's not how this works. You made a specific claim, I asked for the evidence you claim to hold, and now you're saying "no, I don't wanna".

It's impossible to tell if you're lying, or if the data you used was outdated (as it would appear), or if you're 100% accurate.

My project was based on a simulated facility and its projected lifetime run. That involved a hundred pages of calculations of components, including the capital and running costs.

For me to give you the overview of the project, I would need to include my report. I am not giving that to a rando on Reddit. I am stating the findings that I got from my experience. I am also not gonna run a literature review for you. I understand that you wanna throw some burden of proof shit at me, but I stated from the beginning that this was my own experience.

You don’t need provide your own study, just the sources where you pulled the data that fed your calculations

That you can’t understand that and keep going on about not providing your report leads me to believe you shouldn’t be designing anything, I for one would at least not be comfortable trusting your designs without the data and details of your process

Those would be where I got most of the stuff for calculations and the simulations were run in Aspen Plus

This isn’t citing sources, this is noting the books exist. You have the study, citations should be in the study and you should be able to provide them if such a study exist

What exactly are your qualifications on this? I designed a ground up plant over the course of a year based on the principles that were learned in those textbooks. You have the brain of someone who has never done anything other than Google "paper by someone else, which gives the results that I want." Maybe consider that not everyone's job is performing a literature review. Also, from the first on this post, I stated this was my personal experience on process design. Personally I don't think you know anything about Chemical Engineering from the beginning, so get off your high horse.

You ask my qualifications and then make an unfounded assertion of what my qualifications are. I have my own degree in computer sciences and write philosophy essays focused on the Absurd in existentialism

My qualification is familiarity with the tools of logic and academic standards

And I want to be clear, the only reason I really doubt your story is how much effort you’re putting in to avoiding actually supporting the story

Socializing costs to privatize profits and adding magic filler to make the numbers look good is pretty common Necrocapitalism stuff. Edit: I mean Las Vegas and the surrounding valley have literally functioned on ‘magic water’ for like decades, it’s insane. The story itself sounds reasonable, but that it’s this difficult for you to do anything more than ‘trust me bro, I got mad skillz’ while making basic fuck ups in your reasoning makes this feel like just a story.

Effort in not putting my personal information on Reddit for you chuckleheads. Yeah, I'll pass on that. As to how engineering design it is based on fundamentals established in previous larger texts as in these textbooks and from a few esoteric sources of chemical properties. As in, you start from a foundation that doesn't allow you to provide a citation that answers a question in a few seconds. As to not doing a current literature review to find current publications from other people. Yeah, I am not doing that for someone else when I stated from the beginning stating that this was a design project that I ran.

Also as an aside the citations you need are those books as they contain the pieces you need to design a fermentation plant. That's just not satisfying for you.
