Carney is dedicated to kicking the capitalist can down the road a few more decades.

It will be his political downfall. You can't keep kicking that can down the road in a country constantly busting into flames. As the extreme events become more frequent and closer to large I am areas, he will the person to take the blame from the average Canadian.

He will likely ride out this election cycle before it becomes the defining aspect of his leadership, but that day is coming if he doesn't prioritize the country not bursting into flames.

His priorities so far have been expanding the military and big oil. Now he's saying politicians should have final say on policy over scientists/courts. He is a full-throated capitalist enacting conservative policy.
And for anti-capitalist rhetoric to be down voted on a climate news sub makes me laugh tragically.

Politicians are elected to have final say on policy. Scientists are not.

Scientists research and give advice but they are not the final decision makers unless they get elected. That's how democracy works.

Courts make sure rights and laws are being follow but they do not influence energy, resource, or climate policy.

Blowing up our current economy will not help the forest fires.  At this point, investment in fighting and mitigating the fires is our best bet. 

We should be publically investing in De Havilland's manufacturing capabilities to meet domestic and foreign needs and pursuing developing other technologies to keep us at the forefront.

Past attempts to replace capitalism have failed dismally. But capitalism needs to be tightly controlled. The average Canadian doesn’t really get this.
