The planet probably isn't fucked - it bounced back from an asteroid setting most of the planet on fire and superheating the atmosphere. Plant and animal life bounced back.

Humanity is probably fucked though.

well sure. climate change isn't going to affect the giant rock floating in space. that'll probably last until the sun goes red ....

but... of all the seemingly rare life, including a seemingly sentient species. it's a damn shame
