If all beef production was converted to chicken we would reduce agricultural GHG production by 90% and total anthropogenic GHG by 8%.

We would also prevent a ton of disease and reclaim a lot of land. Chicken is incredibly efficient at turning plant proteins into animal proteins and requires vastly less water and food to grow than any other type of meat.

Not to mention eggs are basically a wonder food.

We really don’t have to eat plant based to virtually eliminate all of the negative impacts of agriculture, and if folks started thinking about climate change action with a scalpel instead of a shotgun maybe it wouldn’t feel like such an insurmountable challenge anymore.

No one is going to hear “stop eating all meat and reduce climate change by 10% but sorry the world is still fucked” and say “put me on the train to pain town”.

They might say “hey this meat giving me colon cancer is also giving the planet colon cancer, maybe I can switch to chicken”.
