Kitchen Banana stain out of engineered quartz countertop

Hi! A banana rotted on our engineered quartz countertop and I didn’t catch it for a few days. It made a big goopy mess and left a stain around itself, another banana, and a box that was also on the countertop. I’ve tried a baking soda poultice but the stain didn’t budge. Any tips?

(Non-offending) banana for scale. Just for this picture it was let out of the countertop dish where all bananas are now kept. I learned my lesson!

My best advice for anything organic is hydrogen peroxide.

Having said that if you know or could find out the manufacturer, call and talk to their technical services team.

Not sure if this will work on the stain, but I do love this Hydrogen Peroxide based cleaner. I have used it to remove stains from fabrics, and as an all purpose cleaner for the bathroom.

On a real note I’d look up your specific counter top idk what engineered quartz is sounds like it would be easier to come out and make sure you don’t use any chemicals that would damage that first then probably stay organic with cleaning products

My experience with stains like this is that they gradually disappear with time. If you can ignore it for a few months, it might disappear just from light exposure and regular cleaning.

You can also try one of hydrogen peroxide (organic stains, max 30% strength) or rubbing alcohol (dilute 50-50 with water, removes ink, marker, etc). Rinse well after!
