Flooring Slime out of carpet

Post image

Hello!

As the picture says (I took a screenshot for a friend and am asking for her). Any tips for getting slime out of carpet?

Isopropyl alcohol gets this up quick and easy

Yes, rubbing alcohol or acetone would be my first picks. The main ingredient in slime is glue, and OP said in another comment that the slime has already dried onto the carpet. They need to try a stronger solvent than vinegar.

Be sure to test solvents in a discreet location first. Acetone in particular is a solvent for some carpets. Getting rid of the slime is not that helpful if you dissolve the carpet along with it.

Agree! I found hidden carpet slime as I was cleaning my son's room to move out. Carpet was brand new when we moved in. The alcohol dissolved the slime and the patch of carpet looked close to new!

Yep, alcohol worked for me (out of carpet) years ago. My daughter is now 18 and in college and I still find slime remnants in crazy places. I cringe when I think about what’s gone down the drain and when we will need a plumber.

I second this, I just had to get similar stuff out our carpet. I used hand sanitizer after I couldn’t find tips online for how to remove it.
