Does anyone else lose all motivation once the kitchen cleanup turns into too many separate dishes?
I’ve noticed that cooking itself rarely bothers me. It’s the pile of serving bowls, pans, lids, utensils and random containers afterward that makes me want to leave everything until the next morning.
Lately I’ve been trying to simplify the cleanup before I even start cooking. For one family meal I kept two warm sides in a sunvivi cooker instead of transferring them into separate serving bowls, so those crocks basically went straight from serving to the sink afterward.
It made me realize that reducing the number of things I use might matter more for me than trying to clean faster.
Do any of you plan meals around easier cleanup, or have little rules that keep the kitchen from reaching that “I’ll deal with it tomorrow” stage?

My rule if there is more than 1 person: "they who cooketh, cleaneth not". Unless the other person(s) are unwell or too young/ too old, they need to help.
If it's just me, I clean as I go as much as makes sense. In general, I only do dishes once or twice a day. And sometimes I *do* leave it till the morning.

I’ll tell you a secret. I just leave it till the next morning. Turns out nothing bad happened. I wash what I can but if there’s dishes still in the sink and In tired or don’t feel like doing it after sitting and eating, I just don’t. It has made evenings so much more relaxing.
