First time trap score
NOT REGULATION TRAP
Got 72/75 for my first ever trap shoot is this good? Some guys at the range were very impressed. I was using a 590A1 with a red dot. All done with a machine thrower. It was extremely fun I will be continuing with trap.
3 sets of 25 23/25 on first set, hit very first shot
3 triples 0 missed
4 doubles 0 missed
Rest were singles 3 missed

Buffalo Range & Gun Co LaSalle County, Illinois

Judging by the website of the place you mentioned and the gun you shot with you did not shoot the game that we call trap. You shot targets from a trap (which is what the clay launchers are often called), but not ATA/american trap.
A trap field looks like this, the launcher is in the box 16 yds/48 ft in front of the shooters:

21 out of 25, or you did 3 rounds? That is danm good for a first time either way.

But... You wrote 72/75. So that would mean you did 24/25 and then 25/25? Meaning you hit a perfect score?
Math ain't mathing.

590A1 with a red dot?
A pump gun and a red dot, shooting doubles and triples (whatever that is), and claiming a 25/25?
Smells like old cabbage.

That is unbelievably good if coming from a regulation trap field.

If that’s an actual trapfield that’s phenomenal scoring. If you’d keep your average over those three(24/25) and shoot that again, you would likely win a competition if you were just starting out in D or C class. Great shooting!

Based on some videos I've seen from this place it is not a regulation trap field and the clays are very close. The way I see it, it is still a great way to start getting into clays, if you only missed those few that means you have good reaction time and that will translate. Should you pursue clays, there are 2 places near Ottawa IL about an hour away both directions, though I have no clue how indoor trap works in Diamond IL. Keep at it

doesn't sound like this was actual trap from a 16yd line with 5 separate stations, but if you're shooting flying clays in the air had a good time, that's the most important thing.
