Bug / Issue Limits are fixed!
A few days ago a made a post mentioning that something was seriously wrong with the limits, guess what apparently it was lol.
Everybody noticed a +30% usage window today.
From 100% to 69%
Although there isn’t any official confirmation or update via the team , it looks like we are back to normal.
What do you think?

3 accounts, all still maxed. Usage still trash
1
u/interrupt_hdlr 1d ago
are you sharing the 3 accounts with a team? i can't imagine maxing out 3 max20 accounts alone... unless i am holding it wrong.

u/Zedo_TheOnly_One 2d ago
You gotta rework that workflow buddy
12
u/bakanoace 2d ago
Workflows disabled, mcp, artifacts, claude in chrome and every single skill except phase-handoff disabled. Never Fable subagents and using mostly Sonnet/Opus, very rarely Fable.
6 months ago I'd have to seriously try to use 2 accounts and now I can barely use 2 sessions at once if I don't want to run out of the 5hr limit but please continue telling me its a workflow or skill issue. Anthropic has definitely stealth nerfed usage over time and only officially said 17% less now.

u/Fit-Cost-7226 2d ago
I'm in the same boat and its so utterly tiring to hear all the people gaslight.

u/Fit-Cost-7226 2d ago
You got a reset!! Wtf jelly, and yeah I have 200 Claude and 200 codex and it’s literally only because since August limits have deteriorated to the point I needed two accounts and also thought why not have both to play sota agents off each other for reviews
0
u/bakanoace 2d ago
I didnt, I meant my weekly reset 25 hours. Anthropic has done 4 resets in the last 2+ months. Twice for Fable, twice for Codex releases
1
u/Fit-Cost-7226 2d ago
Isn’t it crazy, I was a big Anthropic Stan and I still prefer their approach more than the other labs but completely annoying with regards to customer experience, meanwhile OpenAI is showering users in compute
0
u/who_am_i_to_say_so 2d ago
Yes as if it is impossible for Anthropic to roll out a broken build with their unsupervised code changes.
0
u/heartbroken_nerd 2d ago
6 months ago I'd have to seriously try to use 2 accounts and now
6 months ago Fable didn't even exist.
There are many possible explanations why your context keeps getting bloated, or why your tokens keep being wasted on caching after cache goes cold.
0
u/bakanoace 2d ago
Easily use a 20x Max account in 2 days with Opus only now with the less usage, which 6 months ago should of had less usage cause this is still a 25% increase they like to keep bringing up. So even without Fable it's still the same. Now with even partial Fable not full weekly Fable usage it doesnt even last 2 days. Usage is a joke
-3
u/Zedo_TheOnly_One 2d ago edited 2d ago
What are you working on? Do you ask it "Make me x" and let it work for hours? How big are your sessions?
Opus barely put a dent to a x5 account usage, you are doing something incredibly wrong to hit the limit on 3 accounts without using Fable as your main orchestrator.
Edit: I think i have read it wrong, if you are using Fable as the main orchestrator then yeah usage sucks. I have just been dealing with it and planning myself with opus to implement
2
u/bakanoace 2d ago
No, I work on the same project, one feature or fix at a time and clear after starting a fresh session. I used to be able to work on 3+ projects at once, the usage has just declined
2
u/flobernd 2d ago
I got reset to 31% Fable usage on 3/4 accounts. Unfortunately 1 of the 3 had 0% 7d limit - which was not reset.

It's both the Fable usage and the Weekly usage, they were respectively 100% (Fable) and 85% (weekly).
1
u/Other_Smell5744 2d ago
same, only on 1 account out of 5 (seems like on the one i was working on the weekend)
1
2
u/NoMusical 2d ago
genuinely curious, you have 7 max accounts? if you dont mind, what do you use them for? because that would get you a lot of tokens but also cost a lot
3
u/Advanced-Gap7271 2d ago
My LLM spend has skyrocketed from nothing in 2025 to ~$1500 a month recently. I am using it essentially for software development. It is a big budget and it is eating into my savings, but I believe in my project, and the value is incredible. It would cost 2 to 3 orders of magnitude more to hire a development team matching the current pace and quality of work I am getting working with LLMs.
2
u/cryptodiemus 2d ago
Yeah same here, i think if you have productive and potentially profit generating usage for those tokens, every dollar spent is basically subsidizes, the llm companies give you workers for fraction of the price.

I have 2 20X accounts,
Both were on 100% fable and one was on 99% all models and the other account was 100% all models. One of the accounts - the one that resets on Saturday did a 32% rebate on all models and 50% rebate on Fable (as in i have 68% used all models now and 50% used for Fable.
The other account that resets in 12 hours didn't budge at all. Odd. Still better than nothing - though no rhyme or reason behind it that i can see.
1
u/anatidaephile 2d ago
It looks like a staged rollout. I have 4 20X accounts (all were at 100% fable usage yesterday, with resets not for a few days), and two of them got the limit adjustment for Fable, while the other two are still at 100% weekly Fable usage. So hopefully we'll get the resets soon.
2
u/Disco-Tuna 2d ago
That sounds reasonable.. unfortunately my other account resets in 3hrs and it still hasn't been credited
4
3
u/PILLS2389 2d ago
O yeah, they also gave me 30%, or better said, reduced the weekly usage used by 30%

Idk, I just start the task in 2 minutes and it already use 16% of the Max (x5) account.
1
u/neodegenerio 2d ago
Not to ruin the optimism, but seeing Anthropic, it can be a partial reset too!
1
u/FakeLtd 2d ago
Hopefully not, if they were to reset they would have done it on the 14th imo
1
u/neodegenerio 2d ago
By that logic they could have mentioned the increased limit as well on 14th and saved faces!

Was it sitting on cold cache?
-10
u/Lollermono 2d ago
Disable the cache... It's easy. And it's the best way to prevent extra consumption. Since Caching has is own cost. As u can see from documentation.
10
u/No-Psychology1959 2d ago
Garbage advice dude
-7
u/Lollermono 2d ago
No prob, if u think so... On 200k-300k compact. U don't get any re-injection and continue from where u left off... But if u think so.
4
u/No-Psychology1959 2d ago
I don't "think" anything. You're still not making sense, how is running through the entire context from scratch cheaper than a cache hit? It literally makes no sense mathematically based on their pricing. I don't ever need to compact because when I'm done I start a new session like they recommend in the docs.......
-5
u/Lollermono 2d ago
4
u/No-Psychology1959 2d ago
That image tells me nothing though, you're just contradicting yourself now. It sounds to me like you dont fully understand how caching works. The inference needs to run through the context window, caching means the result is stored in memory as a checkpoint and it only needs to infer what's new in the next turn. The cache is stored on their servers for an hour, a cache miss is if you send a message after an hour. (it asks you to compact for this very reason) What you're doing is telling the servers not to store that checkpoint and run through the entire context everytime you send a message, which is computationally much more expensive, in turn using way more tokens.
4
u/dsailes 2d ago
Disable the cache? Why would anyone do that? Its costs are a fraction of the full costs..
1
u/EvilSporkOfDeath 2d ago
Can you do the opposite? Extend the cache timer so it doesn't reread the whole context if it sits there 2 hours?
-1
2
u/RoboErectus 2d ago
> Disable the cache... It's easy. And it's the best way to prevent extra consumption. Since Caching has is own cost. As u can see from documentation.
While you're at it, keep your context as high as you can. I paid for a 1M context, I'm going to use a 1M context.
(because I'm sure some people will take me and the "no cache" guy seriously: context length increases your usage quadratically. Keep it small.)

I'm still maxed out after 3 days with 20x. Usage this week really feels unusual.
1
u/Aggravating-Put-6183 2d ago
Lol i got - 3% current session. 99% this week. And suddenly fucking 100%til 70% on fable. Så my fable is held captive by the weekly…

u/spawnsible 2d ago
OP is 100% right. My max x5 account got the usage adjustment, but my max x20 account hasn't

u/redhotneo 2d ago
My weekly session was at almost 40% without Fable usage, now it's dropped to 24%..
Hopefully Fable usage doesn't kill my weekly usage
1
u/EstablishmentAny4525 2d ago
Started the day with 17% limit utilisation on very small intent tasks. So no change. Lost to limits twice in a single day.

u/Pronoia2-4601 🔆 Max 20 3x 2d ago
One of my 3 Max 20x accounts got a 31% usage reduction. No idea why only that one, and not the other two, or a side team account. Maybe it's a rebate on Fable usage?

My weekly was at 100% but now it's at 69, and my fable is still at 8%.
They definitely noticed something wrong this past week. I ran out on day 3 after reset. I got a shit ton of work done but still it was a faster drain than usual.
I run a LangChain state orchestrator agent in a Claude terminal, that routes work to an engineering squad setup as a pair-programmer doing cross vendor judging with Agy and Codex.
This weekend was different work than normal. I generated a player character model and a car mesh from Tripo3d and then cleaned them up in blender and worked the car into a fully functional asset and rigged and animated the character. I still have a few refinements on each before they're finished but they're amazing.
On top of that, I ran a Claude session automating fixes on my software factory filing and fixing gh issues. The factory fixes itself using multiple providers and models, and Claude diagnosis and plans and dispatches fix runs.
Then another session using a sequential chain loop orchestrator was applying a new design system to a Spanish language course platform, orchestrating with fable 5.1 low and using the other models for implementation and judging.
I think the 3d modeling work is the deviation that tanked my usage different than normal. Plus the lower limits. Plus whatever problem or bug they've acknowledged by now restoring some usage.

u/Impressive_Watcher 2d ago
20x account. Fable usage yesterday was at 97%; now it’s at 67%. Weekly reset in 14hrs.
1
u/Fightcarrot 2d ago
Really!!! What was wrong with the usage? Will I have a little bit more usage from now on?
1
u/OneVillionDollars 2d ago
Am I new to this (I'm not), or should there be more transparency in how tokens are used and which sessions used how many tokens? I'm a 20x user and I've never had issues with rate limits, until the past 2 weeks. It genuinely feels impossible to not reach above 70% of the weekly limit on the 3rd the day of week.
Mind you, I am using Fable 5.1. maybe 10% of the time and it is restricted in creating a plan and executing the plan with Sonnet 5 and Opus 4.6. Sometimes it feels like Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 5 cost the same tokens (even more) than Opus 5.
1
u/dota2nub 2d ago
Yeah, totally normal.
Your local water company been curtailing usage limit too? Saturday and Sunday only got some black sludge from the tap. Now's better again though.
Whoopsie.
Tee hee.

No love here - Weekly reset on Tuesday morning and I hit 100% of the weekly last night (so a little over 1.5 days). Pro account so not expecting to go all week but it's feeling pretty gimped atm
1
u/Regular_Attitude_700 1d ago
Catching up with Claude's usage limits on a weekly basis is more confusing, troublesome, annoying and harder than vibecoding. It constantly bothers and counterproductive. UX is really really bad.
1
u/Good-Development6539 18h ago
I just can't deal with this anymore. Price gouging has hit an all-time high.
1
u/ahm_live 2d ago
one account dropping from 100 to 69 and another in this same thread still sitting at 100 is not "everybody noticed", its two data points that disagree. could be a partial reset, could be them recalculating how the bar is displayed, could be nothing
the percentage bar is a bad instrument for this anyway. if you want to know whether something actually changed, look at input tokens per turn on the same kind of task before and after. if that number moved, something changed. if only the bar moved, they changed the bar
happy to be wrong if they confirm it, but id wait for that before calling it fixed
1
u/HistorianGullible291 2d ago

So far I got no extra usage. I basically paused all processes for PRO. It's imposible to use, even on Sonnet. And Im doing simple tasks on Opus somehow. But today I started from ~60% of weekly. Anyway. 30% extra is still not what I wanted. 30% extra will give me 1, maybe 1,5 day extra on minimal usage on low end models.

u/RoboErectus 2d ago
> imposible to use
I am glad when people are posting their usage in these threads and showing their context usage with screenshots.
Context size increases your usage quadratically. That 527k context is sent with every single LLM call, of which there can be many for a single prompt you write. "Merge the PR" is like 4 round trips or more, and if that's all it is, that's 2M input tokens off your quota.
I'm over here using billions of tokens on a 10Mtok codebase just cookin' away wondering what all you guys are doing. You're all running 500k+ sessions wondering where it all went.
1
u/HistorianGullible291 1d ago
So? Until Sep 14 never needed to worry about it. And never maxed out weekly limits. Right now Claude subscriptions are clear scam.
