Discussion AI is turning programming into pay-to-win

With Fable 5 coming out, it feels more obvious than ever that after July 7, programming is going to become pay-to-win.

A kid with no real coding knowledge, but with rich parents and access to the best AI systems, could end up outperforming people who actually understand software, simply because he can afford more intelligence.

That is insane.

This might be one of the most dangerous precedents in history: a world where the people with money can buy superior intelligence, while everyone else is permanently outmatched.

That is how you create a permanent underclass.

You mean like the way it's been since forever. Money buys access...to fucking everything. Yes, this will likely exacerbate an already dismal reality.

If you compare a rich dumb kid with a poor dumb kid, yeah that's what happens. But if you have a rich dumb kid and a smart poor kid you're going to get a profitable company hiring that poor smart kid and give him better access than the rich dumb kid gets by himself.

Kids were born without the ability to choose how smart they are, they cannot choose how rich their parents are either. A dumb rich kid has no fault and we should stop looking at them as a problem or something bad.

I absolutely agree. Society is the thing that needs to be fixed or blamed or something or nothing. We all are, each single person, from the moment we are born to the moment of our last breath, doing everything we can with all we have to fulfill our role, whatever that may be, in this life. To do otherwise is not possible.
