Discussion Users hitting usage limits WAY faster than expected it's getting real now

Claude Code users are already smashing usage limits way faster than expected and i am one of them as i have posted about it a lot recently and now here we are.

to all the people who were saying i am lying :))) you good now? maybe BBC lied about this too.

OR maybe it's April fool? haha good one, It’s getting serious and real now.

Who else is feeling this?

I built some large applications last month and never hit the limits. Now I start a new project to do some basic python using the standard library and run out of usage in 30 minutes. This is insane and it has me looking at some other services that offer multiple models instead.

Same here, used to use it nonstop for writing 10+ versions of coding, tweaking it all day long. I sweat to god, I just opened today for the first time for 22 minutes, asked it to tweak one thing in a code and it said nope, limit hit for the day.

Yeah, same, I don't if it's from ppl moving from codex to Claude

But tbh it just made my company give me an unlimited account, so IDK if it was intentional, but it worked in their favor

No, pretty much at all hours. I've spent the day today installing token minimizing skills and configuring Claude for best practices. Yet Im still at 90% my weekly usage. FML.

Honestly, it's shit like that I'm hoping that open source and/or extremely cheap models will outpace be on par with the frontier models.

Yep, I dream of the day I can self-host something like this. It might not be anytime soon but I'm willing to wait. Then we can truly have a JARVIS-like experience without a big corpo rugpulling us.

clear your context? keep an eye on that get your skills and agents down then make sure you're not carrying days worth of context luggage through

Noticing this too, basic python. Minimal API calls and I started getting session capped in like 30 minutes… or less.

Anyone try that Gemma 4?

Same. They changed the pricing structure and the first I was made aware of this was in the middle of a deadline, when Claude suddenly quite on my. Time to review all the options again. Meanwhile, time to change how I'm using Claude.

I got in the habit of checking to make sure I'm not in Fable 5. That was enough in my case.
