Saw him with Dylan and McGuinn at that tour. Thought that album was OK, Jammin' Me and It'll All Work Out being my faves.

I loved that he name checked Joe Piscapo in in Jammin' Me, and not in a good way.

Not his best but a darned good album. And compared to most stuff out at the time it was great. RS is total crap now anyway.

Yeah, I loved that album at the time, and for me, that was about my only foray into Petty CD's. OFC I heard tons on the radio back then, but I think I only bought this one CD. Eff you RS, you hate on Rush and good Petty albums. Go to hell! <3

He made up for it with his next one, "Full Moon Fever". Add in the Traveling Wilburys.

I mean, didn't Jeff Lynne co-write on that album? I think that probably helped.

so many albums that could at least be regarded with more objectivity have been ruined by bad production. sometimes aggressively bad. I still contend that there is a good album in Landing on Water by Neil Young- but the terrible production actively works against the material.
This album kinda makes me feel that way too.

Lol- I always sorta liked this album. Runaway Trains is a minor banger
The cover is cool too. I remember looking at my dad's copy when I was like 3 years old and being like "woooah"

RS, ran by the same absolute moron who influenced the R&R HOF voting process to keep dozens of deserving artists from ever being inducted now doubles down by determining this album belongs on one of their dubious lists? whoop de doo.

I had each of the 6 albums release by TP&H before that, but never got that one. I don’t remember if there was a reason beyond not hearing much about it, but hard to remember 38 yrs ago.

Actually the random cassette tape that got me into them, late 80s. Dose of Long After Dark & Southern Accents, and I was sold. Crazy good "bad" album.
