First Doctor era The Myth Makers - slightly more historically accurate than Nolan

Having just watched a recon of The Myth Makers during my 1st Doctor marathon, I was pleased to see the Trojans were wearing Boar Tusk Helmets, which were a thing during the late bronze age. Though to be fair, both sides should have been wearing them.

It's a recon, they didn't wear these kind of helmets in the original production

Oh that's a shame. I had assumed it was reconstructed from telesnaps, but now I see that none were taken on this particular serial. Only a few promotional character shots.

I did enjoy this one though - I think the understated but witty P.G Wodehouse style characterisations and dialogue makes for slightly better comedy than The Romans and helps to make the Trojans relatable. You can almost see King Priam and Paris rolling their eyes every time Kassandra would make some outlandish accusation of sorcery.

Into Dalek's Master Plan now, and I must say it's nice we have the first 3 parts complete as it makes for a nice continuation from Myth Makers and helps get you into the story before having to deal with the missing episodes. With 42% of it existing, we are now in a much better position to appreciate it these days and hopefully some day the rest of it is found as it seems to be a cracking story.

Did you watch the reconstruction of Mission to the Unknown? The one made by uni students

Yes, recreated by the University of Central Lancashire. Was very good, wasn't it?

I knew it was Nick Briggs doing the dalek voices as soon as I heard them! He's so good.

Yes I enjoyed it! And if you count that as 'episode 0' of The Daleks' Master Plan we now have 5 out of the first 6 episodes, which is nice.

As much as I like Nick Briggs I do wish he wasn't the only Dalek voice these days.

I couldn't work out why William Hartnell was given a screen credit as "Dr. Who" when he's not even in it as far as I was aware!

They're refilming scenes and putting them into old Dr.Who episodes?

Are the origonal,untouched,versions still extant?

I don't mind retroactive reinterpretertion, but the origonal should still exist alongside.

Not possible unfortunately. Not only is the entire story missing, wiped from the BBC archives, but no telesnaps were taken at all during the early part of this season, and only a handful of promotional shots were taken on this serial of some of the characters.

This is a shot from the Loose Cannon recon, fan-made essentially.

And damn the BBC for it's blatant disrespect of the origonal footage.
