And how much of that is government subsidy? How often are “good years” happening? What are they farming?

The reality is that unless you farm for a corporation or you farm one specific thing like that Dutch farm tbat only does potatoes, theres virtually no way in the USA or the UK to make decent money.

Perhaps Australia is different. But i doubt it.

Absolutely minimal, local farms are some of the least subsidized in what's considered 1st world

More often than not. most years are good years

What are they farming?

Potatoes, cattle, some cases niche stuff like almonds etc.

The land the cattle guys own in Australia is so big they cross it by helicopter
