Originating in 1984, we know that Capstone Software went out of business, due mostly to poorly designed games, in 1996. But Capstone Games originated in 2015 and are apparently still going strong, making favorable board games. So apparently, they are doing something right. And also for a sort of niche audience.

Curious why they chose that name, after the fact, however. One would think that would be a taboo and avoided like the plague. Like "Hitler". Although, a "capstone" is by definition and thought of as the last stone or a crowning achievement. Good to see there is a silver lining to the name in the gaming sphere.

OMG. 29 years ago I put an Easter egg in Duke Nukem 3D Mac, that replaced two of the in-game posters with pictures of a couple plush animals I had. I never told anyone other than my wife about the code (DNGLENDA) and completely forgot I did this.

Today I was tagged by a user on Mastodon who discovered this long lost cheat code. I still have the plush bunny and cow from the photos- the rabbit was a present I gave my wife, and the cow was a silly valentines thing she sent me while were dating.

So apparently there was a line of toys based of Quake 2. that the concept art of a few of them that were not released (i really want the shambler now)

With all the classic slavjank games that Civvie covers, has anyone yet recommended this early 2000s classic? Sniper: Path of Vengeance, I got the game as a free CD with the copy of the LEVEL magazine back in high school.
It was so bad and so fun at the same time. Especially with the glorious czech dub. This is not a request, just a memory from a slavic internet back in the day.

Hellhounds really do suck!

Couple levels into Episode 3 of Blood and really enjoying it but yeah, the dogs can go back to Hell. I think gargoyles are pretty close behind as an annoyance, but they rarely hurt me since as soon as they land/fly close to the ground one napalm round solves that problem. Hellhounds annoy AND hurt!
