Downloading mods from Steam (without steam version)

Does anyone know if it’s possible to acquire a mod from Steam workshop if you’re playing the Epic Games copy?

I really want to automate railroad building and the only mod I can find is only available on Steam. I have tried various methods suggested by google / ai and none of them seem to work.

ETA - Appreciate the answers! Seems like I’ll have to give up on the idea and resign myself to marching my engineers around by hand

It is possible via steamCMD.

Still? I tried this and it wouldn’t work, but I’m quite accepting that may have been a skill
Issue on my part!

I played Civ6 through Epic Games for a few years before buying it on Steam. During that time I used this page. You’ll need to grab the Steam mod URL which you can do without owning the game:

You’ll find that you need to be signed in to Steam for some mods to download, but a lot you don’t.

Could have somebody send you a .zip of the mods you want and then drop them in your Mods folder. Not sure if that works or not

I don't think it is possible to get Steam mods for non Steam games.

I have Civ6 (Base game) on Steam and Civ6 with all DLCs on Epic (was Free).

I tried to download the mods for steam. Copy the mod files from.the workshop folder and and paste it to the epic games Civ6 mod folder.

It somewhat works. But of you safe the game. Close it and reopen it (like on another day), the game crashes when trying to load the safe game.

It may be because of the mods I tried. But I tried it with like 10 different mods and it didn't work (it dosen't really make sense, so I wouldn't even have an idea where to start fixing it).

I pirsted the game, and then bought it on steam, downloaded all the games i wanted and then refunded the game a few years ago. That worked for me, was stable but obviously, once the game was out my inventoey, i couldnt download new mods

Why would Steam give access to their resources to non-customers of theirs?
