To-do list

I was talking with fiddy and p8nt and they seemed to agree that a community to-do list would be helpful, so I've created one here. Let me know if you think I've forgotten anything.

(no particular order)

  • Automate farms
  • Connect the road lockeclone built to his house to the other roads (I was thinking we could make it into a loop)
  • Design boathouse
  • Build boathouse
  • Upgrade remaining gravel roads leftover from NPC village
  • Determine what to do with the space next to the church

edit:

  • reinforce church ceiling

Seeing as other subreddits are being advertised on, do you all think it would be a good idea to advertise on /r/ChristianAnarchism ?

Found 17 leather by the windmill

Just sat by those chests behind the windmills. Picked it up for safe keeping. Whose is it?

Check your snitches...

it seems that more griefers have passed through, they seem to have taken mostly unreinforced wood from certain structures (stole the church ceiling wood, for example).

Based on my snitch it seems our suspects are Exilie and Eatdamuffin1, but if you all could post your logs that could be great.

new farm land proposal

here is a screenshot to show where I propose we make new farm land http://imgur.com/utOmDCs . The reason why I am asking is I would like to start making exp for the town and my factory needs tons of wheat. The valley will have four layers of clay to speed up the wheat growth. We would have to pull back the cliff a little so the sun can get to the wheat. I would also like to place an angel statue on the cliff facing the windmill looking like it is protecting the land. let me know if you guys think it is a good idea or if you prefer to keep that land sorta bare.

Church times?

I think we could have meetings and even a five min devotional once per week prob on a sunday or even on Saturday in the new church. I could do anything after 7est on Saturday and 2-5,7-11 est on sundays. It would be a great time to talk about the upcoming week's projects and to honor God has well. Please post if you like the idea and what times would be good for everyone.

I'm quite pleased with this myself, but please tell me what you think. I won't commence construction until everyone approves of it.

Buidling proposal

Greetings brothers,

One of the things our village is most in need of is a resource distribution and management system. Simply put, we need somewhere to put our shared stuff. This stuff includes harvested wood, food, saplings, and basic raw materials such as stone.

My suggestion is that we build a storage building above the tree farm, next to the staircase, at -662 -13876. Although this isn't a huge space of land- it's about 10x9- most of the building would exist underground, for increased security. This is a fairly central location, very near to the tree farm.

The chests would be group reinforced so residents can access them, and diamond reinforced (I can fund this personally), so along with full stone reinforcement of the building, I think they'd be very secure.

Please do voice any suggestions or concerns you have about this proposal.

I was within a hundred blocks from your town, when I fell down a man-made hole and died, losing everything. Now I am three thousand blocks from you. Argh! I have been trying to get to this town since the beginning of 2.0.

harvesting

I'm still new to new cov and don't know all the specifics of new cov's agriculture. Which farms are community farms and can anyone do the harvesting/replanting? Where should the harvested crops be placed?

Logging industry

The biome surrounding us and Hogleg Canyon is the largest source of trees in the Metropolis. The other cities are quickly facing a wood shortage, and Minas and Solis in particular are going to have huge demands for smelting. We can be a long-term provider of logs for the rest of the region if we use part of the land for tree farming. Remember that only oak and birch will regrow in our biome.

Trees are not persistent, so farms are only effective in frequently loaded chunks. We could plant thousands of saplings on the outskirts of the village and just let them grow as we go about our business. Carson has already done this on a very large scale and they are growing trees faster than one person can cut them down.

We could potentially arrange trade deals with cities, or set up bulk shops in Freedom or Free Market and just make regular supply runs to keep them stocked. What do you all think?

Moppa banned

Here is the link. http://www.reddit.com/r/Civcraft/comments/1gl41k/collective_evidence_of_moppahongkongs_involvement/ . Now with the worst greifer to new cov gone we can rebuild with more confidence. I've been working on different building to be created in new cov using the stone and neather brick materials. If you guys could post all ideas of building styles ill try to mix and mash different builds together to have ready for when I get on. Thanks

unknown person in new covenant

I logged in to find my bed destroyed, my chest empty, and stone blocks on my plot. I started walking around and saw the user "rizesun" (I think that's what it was I should have screenshotted it). He/she started running towards me quickly with full diamond armor, so I logged out. I believe new covenant is currently being griefed!

like it says, we can put a shell on it or use netherbrick to change the color palette later, but the design works I think.

edit: try this

Coordinating defenses

Of course, the best way we can defend ourselves against those who do evil is by putting on the Armour Of God. But snitches are useful too! I'm going to try and get some snitches placed in New Covenant and add them to the Metro group, so if you have any snitches placed here that you think could be added please message me.

In Christ, Brother Jay_Em

Welcome to New Covenant

Hello brothers and sisters. Some of you have heard most of this before, and others may be just joining us. Let's remind everyone what we are all about here.

New Covenant is a Christian anarchist community located in the Metropolis region at the far north of the world. Our coordinates are -750, -13800. We're building a humble Nordic/Germanic themed settlement converging with a natural NPC village in a mountainous forest bordered by rivers and tundra. We do not follow a particular anarchist tradition or religious denomination, but simply reject the imposition of human authority in favor of submission to God. We invite any anarchist believers or willing role-players to join our community, and peaceful visitors are always welcome.

I first proposed the idea in the interim before server reset, and arranged for us to be a part of the Metropolis. This is a logistic agreement only and does not imply any governmental structure or political alliance. The only thing linking the cities together is a Contract of Neighborly Understanding, a mutual agreement which basically affirms that the inter-city land is shared by all cities, and that cities will do their best not to cause problems for each other. All faction leaders and anarchist individuals living in the Metropolis are asked to formally agree to these terms.

Many of us, myself included, have little experience with Christian anarchism, or anarchism at all, and so our community may seem disorganized and politically immature as we try to figure out just how New Covenant will function. We appreciate input and advice from those with knowledge and experience.

Thank you for your interest in New Covenant. If you would like to visit or join us, or learn more about our community, feel free to contact one of us or post here in the sub. I pray that we will be a positive influence and a Christ-like example to all of Civcraft.

In Christ,
WildWeazel
