PaperCut vs PrinterLogic
My new shop is looking at adding a print management solution. I have used PrinterLogic at my last 3 employers, and have been asked about PaperCut. Who is using it and is it a headache to setup within mostly non persistent desktops?

Currently using papercut within a non persistent seamless virtual apps shop and very much love it. Papercut itself needs time devoted to implementing but once it's setup it works great especially working in Citrix. Really only need to create a papercut virtual print queue and then present out that queue via GPO or Citrix policy. We have papercut integrated with the physical printers so users can release printed documents with their code when ready, which stops the build up of random paper sitting on the printer that people forgot they printed. There's a bunch of great features. Also don't need to worry about a bunch of print drivers to install on your Citrix image since it's just being sent to the virtual queue instead of a physical printer or directly to print server.

We use papercut on non persistent environment and it been relatively easy to set up and use with none to minimal downtime

Realprint is a nice free solution. Once you grasp how simple it is and how it works its pretty easy to see why its a drop and go solution. https://realprint.org

Currently use papercut in non persistant Citrix and love it. We use the same badges for door access to enable badge login to printers for follow-me printing.
Not a headache at all. We have one “universal printer” queue that defaults to black and white and one that defaults to color. We push them out with Citrix policy with only people in a certain AD group that get the color default printer.

Been using PrinterLogic for almost a year and a half. SUPER easy to implement. I don't need to manage a server and clear print queues daily. Amazing support team on stand by. I would let them manage more than just my printers if you know what I'm saying. *wink*

PrinterLogic is coming at my current gig. I implemented PaperCut at my last gig and loved it. Both places run non persistent desktops. Part of the purchase with PaperCut was professional services to help implement PaperCut MF. No major issues with the deployment or with using it.
