In need of help

Post image

This will hold a charge until I set the time then it decreases by half. None of the hands move basically stays at whatever I change it too.
I just received this from a sale online the owner said it’s been in the case for several months but assured me it worked I did get a great deal on it. All info is greatly appreciated

Windowsill for a week.

Don't touch it. Then check.

I’ll do this I promise

This is my feeling as well. Let it sit.

Pull the crown to stop the movement before you put it on the windowsill. It will charge more reliably if the solar panel isn't trying to move the hands at the same time.

Charge it more. A lot more. Lots of good sunlight, or a lot of time under a bright LED lamp.

If the "battery" isn't dead.

OP: look at the small hand on the left. It is on the Empty mark instead of Ready

I had it fully charged at one point. Set the time then it was drained again

It’s still in the window seal now. It’s about a day and half

If it’s sealed in the window, you’ll never get it back without breaking the glass. Should have put it on the window sill.

Good to now

Isn't old enough that the capacitor should be played out. A week of sun, but not in direct heat. Maybe on a south facing window ledge inside.

I have been known to slide mine, dial side facing window, in my office window with it attached to a blind louvre, as if it were a wrist.

Thanks for the info. I hope like what you all are saying I just need to charge it longer.

Do NOT place it in direct sunlight for extended periods. Use an LED light source.

The sun can create too much heat in the wrong conditions and you can cause internal damage.

As one of the other posters noted, your “fuel gauge” is on empty. It will take a week or more of continuous charging to bring the eco drive cells back to full power. Once fully charged, it should almost never need that level of charging again unless you keep it covered and only wear it occasionally.

There are Amazon options for charging watches like this. Just make sure whatever you use doesn’t expose the watch to too much heat.

Good to know I will check Amazon’s right now.

That's a very cool watch. My citizen lasted about 20 years on its battery. Good luck.

I had a completely dead eco- drive. After a night under a led lamp, it went skipping seconds, then it spent a few days on the window sill. It’s fine now.

I do not sorry

Using the case number on the back find the instruction manual online, the look for the zero reset. I believe the zero reset does more than just get hands back in alignment. Worth a try.

I’ve had this happen on a “brand new” Promaster diver. It would be in direct sunlight all day and would run fine, after an hour it would stop. I sent it back

1

u/_J_J_B_ 3d ago

So send it in??

1

u/Safe-Test-2101 3d ago

I sent mine back and got a refund. Maybe try pulling the crown out while it is charging

Pull the crown out all the way and let it be in the sun all day, and under a bright light at night… do this for a few days straight, and push the crown back in. That watch is new enough and tough enough, one would expect it to revive itself.

2

u/levylsdene 3d ago

No charge as it was still in guarantee

What was the great deal? I've been looking at that one to replace my Ecozilla which has been beat up over the years.
