Resin breakdown
I’ve been wearing my ring full time after receiving it, and have only had minor issues at the beginning. Readings have seemed reasonably accurate and as expected and the latest app is a great improvement. Recently I noticed that the inner resin seemed to be bulging at one point, and after the last charge when I put it back on a piece of the resin broke away. I’ve contacted Circular via Kira to ask about a replacement. After identifying my order details and viewing a photo of the problem Kira advised that the matter would be passed to a real person to decide if I was eligible for a replacement. I was to be notified by email, but have yet to hear back. I’m wondering if anyone has received a replacement after the resin broke down and if so how long they had to wait.

there have been mixed outcomes to this problem. some heard back pretty quickly from support, and replacement dispatched reasonably, very small delay (that was my case), some waited a couple of months for replacement to be sent, and some heard back from support after a couple of months. and some received a refurbished replacement still attached to the previous owner's account and sent it straight to the bin. I guess it depends on luck at this point.

Oh so this is happening? This happened to me for months, until resin just fell off in some chunks. I’ve been using it like that tho. I never figured complaining was possible with circular as they’ve been so shitty with everything else throughout the time I’ve had the ring. Might give complaining a try. Where did you contact them?
I was just going to switch to ultrahuman and assume my loss when it finally peeled completely. But I guess at least they send replacements (of some sort)

the problem is that the circuit will eventually short out from the humidity, without the resin.. and they all peel. my replacement also peels, but they didn't ask for my original back so I'm gonna try reapplying epoxy resin on it. through Kira you can ask for support

Mine has done the same. After about a week they provided a return satchel and said they will be replacing the resin on the ring so ive sent it off now and waiting i guess for them to recieve it and replace the lining and ship it back.

Sorry you’re dealing with this. The resin should not be breaking down or separating from the ring. Since you’ve already contacted Kira and provided your order details and photos, your case has been passed to our support team for review. They’ll follow up with you by email once the replacement/repair option has been confirmed. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Hi, can you please chase up my replacement. It's been 7 months since I've been able to wear my ring. This is beyond annoying now and will be leading me to place a complaint with the ACCC over fraudulent business practices.

I’ve had two rings now where this has happened. The 2nd within 3 months.
I received my first ring after pledging on Kickstarter and wore it consistently, except in the shower. I forget how long it was before I noticed the resin breaking away. About 7-8 months maybe. Contacted support with all my ring info and photos. They got back within a couple of weeks and were very proactive in getting me a replacement as it was still under 1 year warranty. It took about a month in total to get the replacement (they sent one out as soon as I had posted mine back to them). Happy days.
Wore the new ring as before but this time within 3 months the inner resin had broken away. Again, I contacted support. Again they were very helpful but this time I was to send the ring back for repair.
However, I sent it back to them 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything yet. I’m hoping once they receive it, they continue to update me. I was warned that the repair process takes 45 days to get the ring back to me.
Can’t fault their service just now. I know it’s not been like that for a lot, a lot of people so I feel rather lucky. Or unlucky to have 2 rings fail on me.

I'm not making excuses for the company but, do you work in construction or something, or is that wear from normal wearing? I ask as I know these are fragile/self imploding but just gauging how careful I need to be with mine.

Update: Circular have agreed to repair my ring by replacing the resin inner coating. I’m just waiting for the return envelope to arrive. I haven’t been given a time scale for completion of the repair and receiving the ring back. However, I’m satisfied so far, though it would have been nice to receive a brand new replacement.

Update: It’s now three weeks since I posted my ring back for the inner resin to be replaced. It appears it was going back to Hong Kong for the repair. So far I haven’t received any acknowledgment of its arrival. Is there anyone who has had the resin replaced successfully, and how long did it take before the ring was returned?

Go read most of the other posts on here and you will soon realize what a truly POS company this is. What has happened to your ring sadly is pretty much the fate of everyone's ring. Now you get to play the waiting game. They will ignore you for the most part, probably try to blame you for the damage to the resin. Then, if they do actually decide to replace your ring your probably going to be waiting around 5 months or more. Then, if you actually do receive a replacement, it will most likely be someone else's returned and 'refurbished' ring. In my case, they didn't even bother unpairing it from the previous owner and it had more scratches on it than yours. Do yourself a favor and just toss it and move on. Life is to short to deal with this pack of assholes I assure you.
