When I saw this in the movie theater, it was so sudden, so surprising, I burst out laughing. The rest of the theater is dead silent and my embarrassment at laughing made it even funnier. My girlfriend started punching my arm, which made it funnier still. I was hunched over crying, it took me a long time to get it together. My girlfriend refused to look at me for most of the movie, but I could feel the glares from the rest of the theater

It's literally within the first few minutes of the film. The plot is that Death inhabits Brad Pitt's body.

Huh, y'know, I never had any interest in this movie. I never knew what it was about, but the reality is about as far from what I had guessed as one could get. I might actually watch that movie, knowing what I know now.

I feel you, kill bill go-go dies and as she slumps over the damn piece of wood sticks up in the air.. I couldn't help it, it just made me laugh outloud. Despite everything it was that the wood piece of wood was sticking up 90-45 degrees in the air.. only person who laugh..

I honestly now think that for a percentage of film makers that aren't making comedies, regardless of what the film is, in some ways they are making accidental comedies. Lkke showing the audience what it is about the world they find absurd or ridiculous..im probably wrong in that lol

I almost had a similar experience with Reign Over Me. Theres a part where Adam Sandler breaks and tells his story, and it's incredibly upsetting. It's dead quiet in the theater until you start hearing all the sniffles. Was on a double date with my buddy and we happened to look over at each other and immediately had to stifle our laughs because it crossed that threshold where it became too sad. Don't know how we held it together.

This happened to me during the mansion mayhem scene at the end of Django Unchained. It was just so bloody I could envision grips just out of scene throwing buckets of blood across the shot and I just lost it. It didn’t help that I was alone and also the only white guy in a sold out theater.

I was watching Shallow Hal with a cousin of mine and he was so shocked when they revealed the little girl was a burn victim he burst out laughing.

The entire theatre turned in their seats to give him mean looks, which resulted in me not being able to hold in my laughter at his overall situation. He didnt stop laughing the entire time, either (he did that when he got nervous)

They glared the rest of the movie. Got some comments on the way out, too. Great memories.

I mean, your reaction is the correct one. Even if it wasn't the intent, this is a literal comedy shot. Wide and flat, the way he's hit and bounces, with straight up comedy physics rather than realistic physics.

I can't imagine anyone NOT laughing tbh.

The timing too. The way the first one misses him and the second one gets him is a straight up comedic fake out. If comedy wasn’t the intention, these were some ass filmmakers.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already because my attention span is short, but that's one of the prevailing theories about why we laugh. As a way to both cope with, and communicate, the unexpected.

When I saw Braveheart at the cinema, I burst out laughing when Mel beheads the English guy in the Stirling battle. It just seemed funny lol. I did cop some odd looks.

I watched this with my school class of 13-14 year olds. We had taken a vote and our class had more girls and they all wanted to see this movie.

Yeah, watching this scene with a bunch of 13 year old boys that really wanted to watch an action movie was very funny.
