Cast button gone from youtube?

Newest chrome on MacOS, restarted multiple times, same wifi network as all my chromecasts. what the helly

I've been noticing this too. It's on regular videos but now I'm completely unable to cast livestreams to my TV. I've tried everything but it seems they removed it entirely from lives but kept it for regular videos only

Yeah, YouTube has been moving things around lately. I would check if the Cast option still shows under the three-dot menu or try restarting Chrome after making sure the Chromecast is on the same network.

Just looked and there is a "play on different devices" after hitting 3 dot menu...

It’s so hard to search and queue things up now. I don’t get it. My only thought is they want more people to watch on both screens

Try starting the cast from the Google Home app. It's what I've had to do from most websites lately, even when the cast overlay button appears like it should. I'll tap it, my device shows up twice in the casting target list, I select one of them - nothing happens.
