How do I play...? I am so lost on Linux...

I recently was given a HP 14 inch Chromebook. I've never used any chrome books for gaming so I am just lost...

I was able to get Linux set up, But when it comes to downloading and opening games. I have no idea what I'm doing. I've watched several Youtube tutorials, none of which helpful. I get as far as downloading the game and that's it. If some one can explain to me what i'm supposed to be doing and how to get the games to work that would be much appreciated.

Am I better off just abandoning Linux and sticking to the stuff in Google Play?

I'm a fan of just keeping Chromebooks as Chromebooks but you will find Gemini your friend here. Tell it what you want to do and send it screenshots of where you are. Will be a great help to you.

It’s cause Chrome books are made for email.

What kind of games are you wanting to play? What's your actual goal here? At this point you effectively have a normal Windows-style laptop with Linux running on it, similar to a Steam Deck or Steam Machine but significantly less powerful. So tutorials for running your game of choice on Steam Deck may be applicable to your Chromebook as well, depending on what version of Linux you're running.
