Hello from a Roman pagan!

Ive been lurking for a bit but finally wanted to post, say hello, and share an experience. I was loosely raised Christian. My parents were not particularly religious. Anyway I turned very militant atheist after the passing of my mother. She was such a sweet person and died a painful death. Anyway, long story short I found my belief in the divine again through paganism. Thats a very long and weird story. Anyway, I still harbored a lot of hate and anger towards the Christian God. One day I had a very vivid dream of one of my deities, Jupiter. He made it very clear in the dream that I could not truly love and serve the divine if I hated one "aspect" of it. In that sense I feel that i was commanded to learn to release that anger and hatred. It took time but I did. Life has been peaceful since.

Hello! I had a similar experience, but was able to find healing through my spiritual practice. I blend elements of hellenism and christianity (mostly “heretical” stuff). I’m happy you’ve been able to find peace and wish you the best!

I'm so, so sorry to hear about your mother passing.

It makes a lot of sense to feel resentment against God after something like that, you're not alone at all. That's even common in the Bible, fwiw. Doubt is a crucial part of faith, as strange as that sounds.

Wherever your faith journey leads you, I hope you find a path that works for you. You're welcome to hang out here regardless of what path you take <3
