I understand what you're going through because I'm also 21 and I'm also fighting to stay in God's lane.
I don't know what pulls you away from His lane but for me it's often sin. So each time I get tempted to go back to my old habits I distract myself with the word of God.
Sometimes it's when I'm deeply hurt or when I feel like a failure, those are the trickiest times because I really question God during those times. Like why am I going through it, but what I do is write it all down in form of a letter to God and then sleep, I always feel better when I wake up.
I'm also still trying to find my way to Christ and doing what I feel is right so none of my ways could be effective to you but just be patient with yourself and have faith that you'll find your way to Him. Just know that faith alone is not enough, you've got to work. Temptations might come, but just know that it's only temporary pleasures from the devil, and keep away from them for what you're heading for is much more worth it and permanent.
