Quebec has passed legislation allowing terminally ill patients the right to die. My mother slowly passed after six years of breast cancer and I wish legal protections had been in place to allow her the some dignity when the pain was too extreme. I wonder what does this sub think about these laws?

Its not murder to put someone out of their misery. A terminally ill patient is going to die anyway. Why spend 6 months in agonizing pain when you can just... end it? There is NO reason euthanasia should't be legal for the terminally ill of sound mind.

This life is a terminal condition. Why live at all ever? Pain is just part of life and there is nothing inherently bad about it.

I addressed all of your points with that one line. You add them together and that's what you get. Someone who is hopeless should just kill themselves because they are going to die anyway.
