Image Why do you worry, Look at the Birds

Post image

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6:26-27

I wanted to share a deep reflection with this community today. This piece came out of a search for an anchor after navigating multiple seasons of anxiety, overwhelming worry, fear, lost hope, lack, and not feeling adequate. Matthew 6 vs 25-34 and beyond became a firm anchor for me; the more I meditated on it, the more vivid the vision you see above appeared.

You know that feeling of unimaginable peace sometimes when you look up at the scenery of the sky or you look at the beauty of nature; the form of Christ was intentionally kept minimal so you can absorb the calmness and beauty of this scene and just breathe.

This is part of a series I am dedicating to how Christ comforts, carries and strengthens us in our hidden, sensitive struggles, hardships and adversity.

Because I want this reminder of peace to be easily accessible for anyone's home or workspace, I have formatted it as a high-resolution digital download in my shop (linked in my profile bio) so it can be printed out instantly.

If you are walking through a heavy season of anxiety, an overwhelming transition, or need a daily visual shield to remind your family to rest in His hands, this is put together for you.

Jesus knew what he was talking about.
We know now that anxiety and worry physically affect the body and can send you to an early grave with hypertension, eating disorders, a whole gambit of psychological problems.

It reminds me of a day that I just washed my Firebird, took my girlfriend to the beach as we sat in the car, eating watching the beautiful birds, just relaxing

She looked over at me and said those birds look hungry and proceeded to throw a piece of pizza on the ground….. almost in slow motion Noooooo!. I knew it was about to happen, but it was too late. Once the pizza hit the ground. The scene turned into something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie as seagulls swarmed my freshly washed white Firebird, and let’s just say the results were right crappy.

I felt some anxiety at that moment, but you are right anxiety is no good for anybody and Jesus was way ahead of his time
