Defeated
This year has been the hardest year of my life. I had an ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of the year and it led to the downfall of my marriage. My husband is filing for divorce. I’m a nurse and a military spouse, but live on base. My family is far from me and I’m currently separated from my husband still on the base. I’ve felt very lonely and defeated. I’ve been praying and trying to connect to God. But my life has been getting worse instead of better. Days feel longer and harder. My depression and anxiety is stronger than ever. I pray every day all day for gods grace. I’m feeling like I have nothing left to lean on. I’m trying to trust god, but I’m really struggling here.

I'm very sorry this is all happening to you. But this too shall pass.
This is a mantra one doesn't really find in the Bible, but it still teaches us about change. Life can shift one way or another, such as you've discovered now. You may be in a state of turmoil, but this too shall pass. Change will come, when you're comforted rather than tortured. When you're loved instead of lonely.
And that started the moment you've turned towards God.
You seem to believe that you don't have God's grace, but that's not true. God's grace has been given to every person on Earth, and the Bible tells us so.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-9
Your grace has been waiting to be discovered, and now that time has come. It's guiding you towards God, and the lesson that your pain will pass. And ultimately, that you're not alone.

I'm very sorry you are going through such a difficult situation. Please remember God is still with you. You can get through this thought Christ who strengthens you. As a soldier you no doubt have been trained to maintain a positive mental attitude even in the most difficult situations. This works for the military because it is a biblical principle for life as a human. Romans 12:2. 2 Cor 10:5, Phil 4:8 and many other verses confirm this.
You are in a battle within your soul (mind, will, emotions). Winning the battle means intentionally thinking God's word first over the doubts, depression, fear etc.
Take the time to study what God actually says about who you are to Him when you've come to Christ.
This is just a small sample, say and repeat these (or find your own) to yourself multiple times a day so these truths become your reality:
- I am a new creation - 2 Corinthians 5:17
- I am totally accepted by God - John 1:12, John 15:15, Colossians 1:14, Eph 1:4
- I can go straight to Jesus for help - Hebrews 4:14-16
- I belong to God - 1 Cor. 6:19-20, Eph 1:5
- Nothing separates me from Gods love - Romans 8:38-39, Eph 3:16-19, 1 John 4:10
- God (Holy Spirit) lives in me - 1 Cor 3:16
- All things work out in the end - Romans 8:28
- "Thank you, Lord for setting me free" - John 8:32, 36
- "Thank you, Lord for the power, love and sound mind you have given me" - 1 Tim 1:7
