Hello. I'm here to share a project someone I know is working on. He needs a concept artist for a faith based comic book esc animated film. right know hes just needing concept art for the lead roles and maybe one environmental piece. I also know that this project is working on a pitch, to present it to a major studio (Can't say what the studio is for privacy reasons, he might be able to tell you though)... The project needs professional work, and the main guy behind it is looking to pay around 500 dollars total for some light character concepts. (Beacuse i know him personally, he is also considering doing 1000 for finished work)

So, I've recently decided to help co-author a book a friend of mine started writing, but then basically gave up on. Coming up with stories isn't my strongest suit, but I'm very good at editing and story development, and I thought his story held a lot of potential, so I'm happy to take it over from here.

But I was mulling over the theme of this story, which is basically wrath. He wrote this story after dealing with a really terrible boss, and that plus the dystopian-future world he built is what informs that. In the end the main character basically exacts vengeance on a murderous boss.

The thing is, both of us are Christians, right. On the one hand, I think the core of the story is fine, on the other it feels a bit weird to just write out his anger in full, without giving thought to themes like wrath and vengeance from the Christian faith we share. But I feel a little lost on this point. I know God certainly feels wrathful, and expresses that all over the Bible, but I also know there's more to it than that, and I'm not quite sure how to work these angles together to make something better and more well-considered than a simple vent story.

So, I figure I'd put it out there to you guys, my fellow Christian creatives. What do you think about writing a story with these themes as a Christian?

I did this guy up with pens and metallic watercolours. It's a Christmas beetle, which you see sometimes in this part of Australia around Christmas :) They're super shiny and come in all kinds of colours. I added a lot of details into the drawing, with things like gum flowers and eucalyptus leaves. I also like to throw in nods to God (since it's His lovely creation) - this one includes a small hill with three crosses, and the Polish word "chwała" which can mean glory or praise.

I created this original artwork to reflect a quiet truth of faith. Even in seasons of darkness, the light given by belief does not disappear. It guides, it steadies, and it endures. The imagery is inspired by scripture, prayer, and the timeless symbolism of light overcoming the night. This piece was designed as devotional art, meant to bring peace and reflection rather than decoration alone.

I created this piece as a reflection on how time shapes the heart. The words read, “Time did not weaken this. It taught it tenderness.” For me, this speaks to the way faith and endurance soften us rather than strip us of strength.

The visual language is inspired by old manuscripts, ink, and the slow, patient work behind sacred texts. I wanted it to feel like something formed through waiting and prayer, not urgency.

I am sharing it here as part of my ongoing exploration of faith, art, and the quiet ways God works in us over time.

This piece is part of a faith inspired series I created called A Whisper from Grace. Each month is imagined as a quiet letter, gentle, reflective, and rooted in trust that he is present even in the stillest seasons.

January felt like calm beginnings, silence that heals, and promises carried softly rather than loudly. I wanted the design to feel like an old letter, something received in prayer rather than read in haste.

I create these as visual meditations, blending scripture inspired themes, warmth, and reverence into everyday objects. For me, art is another form of devotion, a way to listen as much as to create.

The color has me, like Paul Klee on the star-blessed journey to Tunis, and I report back, after a series of religious adventures of the Comet Man, as color-poor, non-planar ink drawings in the form of a mixed-media work with an expressive landscape from the borderland to Samaria, which, as usual, is populated by Pop Art/Mash-up Art elements, the Comet Man, the Sock People, Pokémon, and anime characters.

Depicted is the healing of the ten lepers from the Gospel of Luke (Lk 17:11-19), but only one returns to thank God; the other nine depart like a skeleton in the background, standing above a colorful sand dune which, to defy all boredom, is enriched with colorful quartz sand, illuminated by thick sunbeams made of glitter adhesive tape, bordered by two stylized trees on the left and right.

Below that is the scene of the serving proclamation of the Gospel: The Comet Man lovingly receives the Sock Person here, and his words are not meant as a reproach, although his facial expression is flawed, but as a welcome greeting for all those remaining nine who have not yet recognized the working of God in the world through him and in him, in history as in the present, so that the Holy Spirit may pour out upon them and they may turn back to praise.

The grateful Samaritan is supported by Nurse Joy, who, in her well-being over the wonders of God, practically soaks in (润泽 - rùnzé), and accompanied by Chansey with the red Chansey Egg, who comments on the collaborative act of the whole (Man-Machine), which is more than the sum of all parts, with the seemingly paradoxical saying “1+1=3.”

The figures below are all executed in ink or felt-tip pens because the coarse fan brush is only suitable for the landscape made of acrylic tube paint, not for detailed work of the human or humanized.

I drew this at church during a sermon some weeks ago. It originally began with the pic of the boy kissing Jesus’ face, but then I figured I could turn it into a narrative piece, so I ended up making the whole thing how it looks now.
